Close-range violence happens fast. There is rarely time for perfect technique—your reaction is what matters.

This session focused on defending against one of the most common attacks: the haymaker punch.

We worked through two realistic scenarios:
• Reacting when caught completely off guard, using movement to create space and regain the initiative.
• Responding when you recognise the attack early enough to drive forward, take control, and shut the attack down before it develops.

Training realistic reactions under pressure is what builds confidence and effective self-defence skills.

Train smart. Stay prepared.

Tonight we wrap up 6 weeks of stick attack defense training — and this is the one you don’t want to miss.

We didn’t just collect techniques.We built a system that goes from technical understanding → real-world application.

⚡ From awareness and prevention…⚡ To intercepting the draw and controlling the setup…⚡ To applying the core principle: shorten the distance, control the person, control the weapon

Because at the end of the day, if you don’t close the gap and take control, you’re reacting—you’re not solving the problem.

We’ve been pressure-testing this across:✔️ Early-stage prevention✔️ Disrupting the lift before the strike✔️ Managing all 4 primary attack angles (high & low)

How do you deal with a long-distance regular kick?
