The GB Women’s squad held a highly productive three-day training camp in Kalmar and Öland, combining structured on-court sessions with a competitive international friendly fixture. The camp utilised SBB Arena in Kalmar and Ölands Bankcenter A in Färjestaden, providing excellent facilities for both training and match play.

This camp featured a young GB squad, including three debutantes, highlighting the programme’s continued emphasis on development and building for the future.

A key highlight of the camp was the Saturday afternoon fixture against FBC Karlskrona, a strong Swedish Division 1 side.

🇬🇧 Great Britain Floorball Appoints Stefan Hedlund as Head Coach of the Men’s National Team
UK Floorball are delighted to announce the appointment of Stefan Hedlund as the new Head Coach of the Great Britain Men’s National Team.
Stefan brings a wealth of international and elite-level coaching experience to the role. He previously served as Head Coach of the USA Men’s National Floorball Team, leading the programme through three World Floorball Championships and two World Games appearances. In 2011, he was recognised as Swedish Coach of the Year and has held Head Coach positions in the Swedish Super League (SSL) with Linköping IBK Men, Linköping IBK Women, and Västerås IBF Men.
Stefan Hedlund said:
„It is inspiring to have the opportunity to lead the United Kingdom men’s national floorball team.
I look forward to beginning this journey together with the players and coaching staff, with the ambition of taking British floorball to the next level in several areas.
The World Championship Qualification in November 2027 will be an important milestone along that journey.
I see many similarities to the development journey I was fortunate to be part of with the USA men’s national team, both nationally and internationally.
I approach this role with humility, great enthusiasm, and strong motivation to get started.“
Dean Smith, Head of National Teams, added:
„Our national teams have made significant progress in recent years, and we received interest from several outstanding candidates during the recruitment process.
Stefan stood out through his clear vision for our programme, combined with his experience in the Swedish Super League and deep understanding of international floorball developed during his time with the USA national teams.
We are delighted that Victor Ekestubbe will continue as Assistant Coach, and we also welcome Sam Leeds into the role of Team Manager.“
With an exciting new leadership team in place, Great Britain Floorball looks forward to the next stage of its development as preparations begin for future international competition.

The Great Britain U19 Men’s squad recently wrapped up a really valuable 4‑day training camp in Kopřivnice, Czechia 🇨🇿

With a 21‑player group and coaching team led by Jasper Sangen, the focus was on building connections, refining systems, and continuing to develop as a unit ahead of what’s to come.

Across the camp, the squad faced strong opposition from FBC Kopřivnice Vikings, FbK Horní Suchá, and FBC Český Těšín — a great test for the group both on and off the rink.

Beyond the matches, it was an important step in strengthening team culture and laying the foundations as preparations continue for the World Championship Qualification tournament in September, taking place in Estonia 🇪🇪

A big thank you to Kopřivnice Vikings Floorball Club for helping organise and support the camp — your hospitality made it all possible 🙌

The work continues 👊
