Exciting times for the endurance group at TVH with new coaches Bob Empson and Rob Ferguson stepping up to take the lead. 💪

We thank Coach JJ for his incredible service to TVH and hope he will stay involved in the TVH family as he moves on to more local endeavours. 🙏

The Endurance Group will be offering two coached sessions each week.  These will take place on Tuesday at 7.15pm and Wednesday at 6.30pm.  Both are open to all runners, and the planned content of the session will be the same.

🔵Tuesday Session - 7.15pm start
This session is aimed a little more towards runners who are already comfortable with structured training and want a more performance-focused workout. Sessions are designed to support progression across a range of race distances, with a slightly higher general standard and a busier track environment. If you already have some experience of interval training or regular club sessions, this may be the better fit for you.

🔵Wednesday Session - 6.30pm start
This session is a great first step into coached interval training, whether you want to improve your times, build confidence, or develop your general fitness. It is especially well suited to runners who are newer to structured sessions or newer to training on the track, as the track is usually a bit quieter and less intimidating. If you’re not sure which session to choose, Wednesday is a great place to start.

The group is led by Bob Empson and Rob Ferguson. Our sessions focus on preparing runners for events from 5k through to marathon distance, and we cater for a wide range of abilities, from those aiming to compete in track, road relay and cross country teams to runners looking to improve their parkrun times, general fitness, or simply enjoy their running more.🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Get to know a little bit more about the coaches more on in their coaching profiles on the training page on the website where you can find their contact details! 🔎

Pop them an email and come join! 🩵

We are incredibly proud to announce that six TVH athletes are representing their country at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. We wish them luck and will be cheering hard for them on both in the stadium and in front of our TVs.

Here what they have to say 📢 ➡️

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Molly Palmer:

“Being selected for the Commonwealth Games is a huge honour and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent my country at such a special championship. It’s something I’ve worked towards for a long time and it means a great deal to me.

This time last year I was recovering from surgery, so to be in this position now makes it even more meaningful. It’s been a year full of ups and downs with plenty of challenges along the way.

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to compete at the World Indoor Championships and alongside training I’ve also been balancing my final year studying Human Biology at Loughborough University.

I’m really grateful to everyone at Thames Valley Harriers for their support throughout my journey. I’m looking forward to making the most of this opportunity and representing my country with pride."

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Emma Nwofor:

“I am thrilled to be representing England in the 100m hurdles. This is my first time representing England as opposed to Great Britain, so I’m ready to do my home nation proud on homeish soil!"

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Kaya Slater:

"Being selected to run at the Commonwealth Games is something I have dreamed of and to actually be going and for Scotland is insane. I’m so grateful to have my first commonwealth be a home games. My grandad is Scottish and so is my dad so not only am I doing this for me and to show myself that I can do this but also carrying on the scottish pride in the family."

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Angela McAuslan-Kelly:

" I am very excited to represent Scotland at my first Commonwealth Games! It is a huge honor to receive this opportunity and I can't wait to compete in front of a home crowd!"

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿Thomas Walley:

"An honour to be representing Cymru at the Commonwealth Games. A dream come true for me and my family, very excited to get out there and show the world what I can do"

TVH approached the second National Athletics League match with excitement, knowing the standard would be extraordinarily high with fierce competition for the title with rivals Harrow. The match was held in the unforgiving heat of home Woodford Athletics club in North London on 11/7/26. The team took home 8 wins in the A string, 15 in the B string and maximum points secured (thus wins in both strings) in 5 different events. The team took home 8 wins in the A string, 15 in the B string and maximum points (thus wins in both strings) in 5 different events. Our officiating team also scored maximum points (Stuart Pugh, Roger Fitzgerald, Alastar Phelan, Annie Fernandez, Helen Pugh, Lorraine Mulvaney and Nanci Sousa).

🟦Male track athlete of the match – Ezekiel Lowe for a dominant 200m win with a time of 21.07 despite a huge headwind and an impressive relay leg in the winning 4x100m relay
⬛️Male field athlete of the match – Jude Bright-Davies for stepping up to do the long jump at late notice and jumping a crazy 6.80m, alongside his usual impressive triple jump performance where he placed second with a distance of 15.43m
🟦Male club athlete of the match - Aharon Graham Mulvaney for stepping up to do the pole vault with 15 minutes notice, alongside a fantastic relay leg in the 4x400 with slightly longer notice
⬛️Female track athlete of the match – Julia Johnson for her win in the B string 400m hurdles and stepping in to cover the short hurdles and a leg of the 4x400 relay
🟦Female field athlete of the match – NAL captain Sophie Mace for the win in the discus in a competitive field with 49.48m, setting the tone for the day
⬛️Female club athlete of the match – Montana Jackson for not only an impressive B string winning triple jump of 12.63m but a surprise but storming 4x400 leg at short notice

Overall, we took home the team win for match 2 by around 30 points (subject to official ratification). This is a step closer to regaining our NAL title and we are so proud of all athletes, coaches, supporters, officials and sports masseurs (Jade Smith-Brown and Laurence Owen) involved that make it happen. See you all at the final NAL on 22nd August at Eton!

The 2nd SAL match of the season was on Sunday 21st June, on a hot day back at Finsbury Park. Despite the scorching temperatures and headwinds, we rose valiantly to the occasion.

We had strong performances across the board in the sprints, endurance, jumps, throws and hurdles.
It was lovely to welcome lots of new faces to the team as well and incorporate them into the SAL family alongside our loyal regulars!

Whilst we’re super proud of all the PBs and SBs that our athletes smashed, ranging from the sprints to jumps to endurance to throws, we’re also proud of every athlete who gritted their teeth to get every extra possible point for the team.

A great day was topped off by some brilliant relays winning 4/4 of them with some exciting finishes to the mixed 4x400 relays!

Our MotM was Lewis Sorhaindo with 2 big PBs in the LJ with 6.61m and TJ with 13.91m to get big wins. Our WotM went to Rosie Vallance, for not only winning the 3k with a gutsy run in scorching temperatures but volunteering to cover the steeplechase last minute and winning full points!

Thanks to our athletes, officials, coaches and supporters we had another big team win of 51 points! Thank you to everybody who took part, it wouldn’t have been possible without you.

We’re now half way through the league matches this season and our hopes to retain our title are on track but we can’t lose focus. Our next matches are at Little Marlow on 19th July and Harrow on 8th August. Hope to see you there for some more days of fun and exciting athletics!
