⬇️ Start with the 5-minute work assessment I offer strategies and advice for women in the workplace dealing with menopausal symptoms

26/08/2026

A 30-minute meeting should not require three hours of preparation.

But when you stop trusting your memory or your ability to think clearly under pressure, preparation can become a way of protecting yourself.

You make extra notes. You rehearse every possible question. You check the numbers again. Then you check them once more, just in case.

The meeting goes well, so nobody sees the cost. They do not see the lost evening, the tension beforehand or the other work you had to postpone.

I have been that woman. The problem was not that I had forgotten how to do my job. I was dealing with changes that affected how confident and capable I felt while doing it.

If your preparation time has quietly doubled, start tracking it. Notice where the extra effort goes and what seems to trigger it.

If this sounds familiar, message me “EDGE” and I will send you my Professional Edge Check.

You used to speak up. What changed?

Think about the last time you had the answer in a meeting and let someone else say it first. Or the role that was right for you, and you told yourself “maybe next time.” Or the project you wanted, and said nothing when it went to someone else.

You probably called it being sensible. Careful. Not the right time.

But confidence doesn’t usually disappear all at once. It slips quietly, and it shows up in what you stop doing, not in some big dramatic moment.

Swipe through, and be honest with yourself: what opportunity have you avoided recently?

Send this to a capable woman who’s started doubting herself. Remind her who she still is.

Have you noticed that work you once handled easily now needs far more preparation?

You check the details twice. Rehearse familiar conversations. Write pages of notes. Work longer so nobody sees how much effort it is taking.

It is easy to interpret this as a loss of confidence or capability. But sometimes you are compensating for brain fog, poor sleep, anxiety or changes in concentration during menopause. You are still producing the work; it is simply costing you more to get there.

Start tracking that hidden effort. It can help you see where you need more structure, support or recovery before you decide you have lost your edge.

Which of these have you noticed most?

Save this for the day when extra effort starts to feel like evidence that you are no longer capable. It isn’t.

Menopause does not erase your experience, judgement or ambition. But when brain fog, poor sleep and low energy start affecting how you show up at work, it can make you question all three.

That is why you need a career protection plan. Notice your patterns. Prepare for key moments. Protect your energy. Ask for support. Keep a record of your wins. Most importantly, do not quietly step away from opportunities you have earned because you are going through a difficult season.

You have not lost your edge. You may simply need a different way to support yourself right now.

Save this plan for the days when your confidence takes a knock, and share it with a woman who needs the reminder. If menopause is making work feel harder than it should, comment CLARITY and I’ll show you where to start.

CareerConfidence

Mid-sentence.
You lost your words.

Everyone waited.
You laughed it off.

But inside?
You knew something had changed.

This is where confidence starts to slip.

Not because you’re not capable.
Because your brain isn’t as reliable as it used to be.

That gap is exhausting.

And it’s fixable.

I created a Brain Fog Reset Plan for women who are tired of “pushing through.”

Comment FOG if you want it.

You walked into that room with a purpose.
You left with nothing.

It wasn’t a bad day. It was brain fog — and if you’re in a senior role, it’s affecting more than you realise.

Not just the small moments. The meetings. The presentations. The decisions you let slide because you couldn’t find the words.

This is what menopause costs senior women every single day.
Save this post — and follow for what to do about it.

This is what the other side of menopause at work looks like.

You stop rehearsing what you’re going to say before you say it.

You walk into a board meeting and take your usual seat — at the table, not along the wall.

You make a decision and trust it. Not because you’ve triple-checked it. Because you know yourself again.

You stop attributing every good performance to luck and every bad day to decline.

You have a plan. A real one. Built around your body, your role, your life.

You’re not managing symptoms. You’re leading from them.

That’s the other side. And it’s closer than you think.

DM me ARISE to find out what it looks like for you specifically. 🔵

You’re not losing your edge.
You’re trying to perform at your usual level with a system that’s under pressure.

That’s a very different problem. And it has a very different solution.

If you’ve noticed yourself hesitating more, going quieter, or questioning decisions you used to make with ease… pause before you make it mean something about your capability.

What’s happening is often physiological.
Hormones shift. Cognitive load increases. Sleep takes a hit.
And suddenly, the way you’ve always operated feels harder than it should.

Here’s the part most women miss:

• You don’t need to push harder
• You don’t need to step back
• You do need a smarter way to support your brain and body at work

Because when you address the root, your clarity and confidence come back online.

You’re not starting from scratch.
You’re recalibrating.

If this feels familiar, send me ARISE and I’ll show you your first step.

You’ve worked too hard to quietly step aside now.

Nobody warned me that menopause could make me feel like a stranger in my own career.

I'd spent 20 years building my confidence, my reputation, my edge.

Then brain fog, broken sleep, and anxiety started showing up in boardrooms and back-to-back meetings.
I started second-guessing decisions I'd made a hundred times before.

Sound familiar?
Here's what I know now: what you're experiencing is not a loss of capability. It's a transition that deserves a strategy.

Let's talk about confidence and career identity during menopause — because too many brilliant women are quietly shrinking when they should be leading.
