This Saturday at South London Gallery we’re running a special Publishing Practices workshop, guest hosted by Ioana Simion of Zine-Making Workshops 🫶
It’s a hands on session for zine makers of all levels, working through custom worksheets and prompts to kickstart your own zine idea or develop one you’re already working on. There’s no better place to start, surrounded by unmatched inspiration from across the fair, with hundreds of titles to ignite new ideas. This workshop will run form 1pm til 3pm.

In case we haven’t given you enough reasons to spend all weekend at South London Gallery for the PageMasters Zine Fair: we will be joined by music powerhouses & anu to keep the zine-buying energy high!

Back again for another accletic mix of found music and sounds big mic man and regular fixture dj harry bix aka Cupid emcee aka will be playing a series of his records, cds, and sequencers. Bringing the vibes to the fair doesn’t come without its critics, some describe the sound as ‘too loud and annoying’ while others saying ‘hey what was that last one you played?’ Peace and love and musical education. anu Anu Ambasna (she/they) is a London born Artist, DJ, Broadcaster and founder of the publishing imprint, CAMP! (Creative Alternative to Mainstream Publishing). Anu’s self-taught artistic practice focuses on building worlds through zines, comics, radio shows and DJ sets. Anu has held down a residency on NTS Radio since 2017, now hosting the station’s flagship show, Soup to Nuts. Throughout each of these creative outputs, Anu explores her keen interest in archiving histories.

Flick Thru: Revisits Banding’s ‘00s Skateboarding Videos by Golosor Club Printworks

Over time, skateboarding has evolved from just a toy into a subculture in its own right, and has sparked controversy over its status as an Olympic sport. Furthermore, skateboarding has become a visual urban language that reinterprets and documents the cityscape through photographs and videos. In local Indonesian skateboarding communities, where most people only have access to a home camcorder, the variety of skateboarding videos produced can be seen not only as a regeneration of the local skateboarding scene but also as a collectively managed archive of urban activities that preserves the subculture’s legacy.

In the 2000s, Bandung, one of Indonesia’s major cities, became an influential hub of urban culture. Between 2000 and 2010, up to ten skate videos were produced within the skateboarding scene alone. This period marked the peak of skateboarding in Bandung, both as a scene and as an industry. Through this book, we aim to revisit that period. We are placing those videos as a time capsule, documenting not only tricks, but also how a city forges its own identity.

Brevity by Anmarie Bowler

Brevity is a 6-times yearly literary handbill that launched in October 2019, available free at Island libraries and independent bookshops and cafes across the Isle of Wight. In 2024, Brevity partnered with StonesCrabs Theatre, with support from Arts Council England, on the Hear Me Now project, a series of writing workshops, inspiring walks and inclusive talks for LGBTQ+ people and allies.

野良犬 Stray Dogs in Tangier by Mizuki Ichinosé MIZUKI ICHINOSÉ ART

A photography zine capturing the lives of stray dogs in Tangier, Morocco, through the lens of Japanese artist Mizuki Ichinose, known for sculptures exploring human-canine relationships. This volume marks the third chapter of her global journey, following previous instalments in Greece and Thailand, offering a sensitive look at the bond between humans and free-roaming dogs in Tangier.

A scrapbook-style zine about a recent trip to Vietnam, focusing on the food scene of Ho Chi Minh City. A little collection of memories, photographs and illustrations, with recommendations for coffee and food from the point of view of an outsider. Bold colours and fun type, inspired by Vietnamese political posters.

The first issue of a new zine about reading second-hand books. Contains writing on Simon Raven, Martin Cruz Smith’s ‘Inquisitor’ books, the Pelican punk rock classic ‘Knuckle Sandwich: Growing Up in a Working-Class City’, Ramsey Campbell and Doris Lessing. 44 A5 pages on 100gsm recycled paper, in glorious black & white.

Going Going by None Too Soon K Angel

In Going Going, writers and artists share the work that desperately needs to get out into the world right now. Comprising poetry, personal narrative, photographs, drawings, and a recipe, with emergent themes of restlessness, q***r movement(s), family history, and venturing into the unknown, this volume came together as a collective exercise in trusting the gut. Going Going is the first volume from None Too Soon, an ephemeral press fuelled by urgency, necessity, and doing the thing together.

Streatham Common to the Tooting Commons by John Gray southlondonlandscape
The fourth volume in the Commonplace series, this zine mixes history, ecology, psychogeography, architecture, poetry and memoir to unpack the story of Streatham Common, Tooting Bec Common and Tooting Graveney Common, fragments of a huge heath that once covered much of south-west London.

It continues landscape historian John Gray’s exploration of South London’s great chain of commons, following earlier volumes on Bostall Heath, Winn’s Common, Plumstead Common, Woolwich Common, Eltham Common, Blackheath, One Tree Hill and Peckham Rye. Featuring photos by Sam Walton and a wraparound lino-cut cover by Palak Garg.
