Our Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup Semi-Finalists are confirmed!

At Headingley on Monday, Sir Thomas Rich’s (Gloucs) will take on Altrincham Grammar School (Cheshire) in the boys’ match before Ecclesbourne School (Derbyshire) battle it out against Pen*stone Grammar School (Yorkshire) in the girls’ fixture.

The boys’ match at Wormsley on Thursday sees Queen Elizabeth Barnet (Middlesex) play John Hampden Grammar School (Bucks) before the girls at Bournemouth School for Girls (Dorset) and Chelmsford County High School (Essex) compete for the chance to play at Lord’s on Thursday 10 September.

Good luck to our final eight schools!

Thank you, Sarah.

Our incredible Executive Director Dr Sarah Fane will be leaving the MCC Foundation in November after years of love, care and immense dedication to growing MCCF, ensuring we continue to have an impact on thousands of children worldwide. Few people in cricket can say they have had as positive and progressive effect on the game as Sarah.

The County finals in the Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup are over and the National Rounds begin today. We had a landmark moment at Sussex last week with the first match in the competition at the home of a first-class county as the Sussex Finals were held at The County Ground, Hove.

We are immensely gratitude to everyone at the Sussex Cricket Foundation for their hospitality and congratulations to BACA (boys and girls), Midhurst Rother College (boys) and Downlands (girls) who have all made it through to the last 64.

You can see all 128 teams who have qualified for the National Rounds at lords.org/Barclays-knight-stokes-cup.

It was truly an honour to host the Afghan Refugee Women’s XI in the first match of their UK tour yesterday. Our connection with these remarkable Afghan women began with the establishment of the Global Cricket Refugee Fund and MCCF will continue to support refugees and displaced people around the world.

They played an MCCF Select XI comprising girls from our MCCF Hubs in a T20 at the beautiful Wormsley Cricket Ground. The match was a thriller, with the tourists winning by two wickets!

The collaboration between ICC, ECB, MCC, Cricket Australia and Pitch Our Future to help these inspiring cricketers is a testament to what the cricket community can do on a global stage.
