Yellow warnings remain in force as rain and thunderstorms hit parts of UK

Downpours and thunderstorms will continue to bring the risk of flooding to parts

of the UK on Wednesday.

A Met Office yellow warning for thunderstorms is valid until 22:00 BST, and was

amended on Wednesday morning to cover northern and eastern Wales, as well as

north-west England, the Midlands and parts of eastern and southern England.

The rain could be heavy enough to bring flash flooding and travel disruption, with

lightning and large hail posing additional hazards.

Another Met Office yellow warning is in place for Thursday, when more

thunderstorms are expected.

For some areas that have seen barely any rain so far this August, the next few days

could bring the wettest weather in many weeks.

*🚨 STOP Spraying WD-40 on Your Bike Fork Like This!*

That quick spray might seem harmless… but using the wrong lubricant around your suspension fork seals can cause problems.

🔧 There’s a better way:

✅ Use a precise applicator
✅ Apply only a small amount
✅ Keep the lubricant exactly where it’s needed

Small maintenance mistakes can become expensive repairs. *Save this Reel before your next bike service! 🚲*

UK weather: London hits 24°C before Tuesday's rain arrives as Atlantic low

breaches the South West

The Met Office has confirmed that the UK has entered a markedly different

weather pattern after weeks of heatwaves and prolonged dry weather. "After an

extraordinary summer dominated by heatwaves," low pressure has replaced the

high-pressure systems that brought so much heat and sunshine earlier in the

summer. The jet stream has shifted south, allowing cooler air to spread across the

UK.

The video shows how last week's rain has cooled the UK, bringing temperatures

below average for the first time this summer. Even during the upcoming sunny

weekend, temperatures are expected to remain below normal.

The only slight exception will be Saturday, when the south of the UK will see briefly

positive anomalies, with London reaching 22°C and Brighton 24°C before cooler air

settles back in.

Quirk Cycles launches small-batch Kegety steel gravel frameset

New gravel frameset is the third small-batch option from Hackney-based brand

Quirk Cycles has announced the Kegety steel gravel frameset, which will be made

in small batches in stock geometries, building on the brand’s experience producing

custom frames.

Quirk Cycles was founded by Rob Quirk in 2015 and is still based in Hackney, East

London, where its frames are designed and made.

According to Quirk: “I originally designed the Kegety for the inaugural Silk Road

Mountain Race, to explore how capable a gravel bike could be on genuinely rough

terrain. I learnt a lot from that experience, and it shaped a bike that marries stability

with responsiveness when the terrain becomes truly demanding.”
