Our young people are turning up, putting in the work, building confidence, learning new skills, and pushing themselves every session. It’s great to see their commitment and progress both inside and outside the gym.

This is what boxing is all about—creating opportunities, building resilience, and inspiring the next generation.

Huge congratulations to Afewee Player, Troy Stewart, on signing his 2-year Arsenal U9’s Academy Schoolboy contract last month ❤️⚽️

Proud moments, hard work paying off… the journey continues another young talent … 👏

We were delighted to welcome our local MP, Helen Hayes, to the Afewee Training Centre this weekend to visit our Step Ahead Saturday School programme.

Step Ahead supports local children by providing additional academic support in Maths, English and literacy, alongside enrichment activities that build confidence, wellbeing and a positive relationship with learning.

Designed by the community for the community, the programme aims to help narrow the attainment gap and ensure that young people have the support, encouragement and opportunities they need to succeed.

During the visit, Helen spent time meeting the pupils, observing the sessions and seeing first-hand the impact of the programme in action.

We were also delighted to welcome special guest Dapo Adeola, award-winning children’s illustrator and author, who spoke with the pupils about creativity, storytelling and believing in their potential.

Thank you to Helen for taking the time to visit and support the work being done to uplift young people and families in our community.

And thank you to our dedicated team, volunteers and supporters who continue to make programmes like this possible.

Together we continue working to create opportunities for young people to step ahead and reach their full potential.

Afewee Academy Player and U18s star Sam Washington-Amoah has put pen to paper on his first professional contract with Charlton ✍🏾🔥

The midfielder joined the Addicks’ academy at U15 level after impressing in a Valley Gold tournament and has gone from strength to strength this season under Manager Jason Pearce 💪⚽

“I’m buzzing to have signed a professional contract at the club. I joined at U15s after playing in a Valley Gold tournament for Charlton and I’ve really enjoyed it here. It’s been really exciting and I’ve blended in really well with my teammates.” ❤️
