QMBL Swimming club are looking for an enthusiastic and talented coach to run the training sessions for
the competitive squad for the upcoming academic year. The club competes in long and short course
BUCS Nationals and LUSL Championships. The successful applicant will have extensive expertise in
competitive swimming and will be able to design structured sessions with a clear thematic focus. The
competitive coach will be required to communicate with the intermediate coach and captains to
collaborate, ensuring cohesion between squads.
Job Description
• Plan and lead training sessions to a group of mixed ability members with diverse backgrounds
and experience of the sport
• Build confidence of returning members and keep retention rates up
• Provide coaching expertise to improve the quality and standard of training
• Be a consistently encouraging and motivating presence within the club
• Develop the club to be more competitive and win as many competitions as possible
• Be passionate about the sport and building an inclusive and fun environment for members
• Have an understanding of higher education sport
• Focus on improving members technique to prevent injury
• Work with the club committee to achieve the clubs aims and objectives for this year
• Display good coaching conduct in line with Queen Mary Student‘s Union Code of Conduct
Salary: 25£ per hour
