Across every class, we have seen wonderful improvements in confidence, technique, dedication, focus and work ethic. Our awards and scholarships are an opportunity for the whole Blackheath School of Dance teaching team to highlight those students who have shown something extra special within their department or made particularly notable progress.

Blackheath School of Dance is a place where confidence grows, friendships blossom and every student feels part of something special.

Huge congratulations to Naomi and Nina, who competed as finalists for the final ever ISTD Janet Cram Modern Awards in the Senior and Premier categories.

With hundreds of entries submitted from across the UK and only around 30 finalists chosen, this was an exceptional achievement and a wonderful reflection of Naomi and Nina’s commitment, performance quality and technical strength.

The Janet Cram Awards have been a celebrated part of the ISTD for more than 60 years, making this final year especially meaningful for everyone involved.
To be named as finalists in the final ever awards is such a special accomplishment, and we are incredibly proud of Nina and Naomi, who danced exceptionally on the day, representing BSOD exceptionally!

We’re delighted to announce that our very own Miss Lucy will be teaching at this year’s BSOD Summer School this August!

Miss Lucy has danced since the age of 3 and then went on to train professionally at the famous where she gained a BA(Hons) in Professional Dance & Musical Theatre. She then went onto perform professionally in multiple musical theatre shows around the UK, including a year’s contract in at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in the West End. Miss Lucy has her ISTD DDE qualifications in Tap, Modern & National Dance and has taught (& still teaches!) at many prestigious establishments & colleges including alongside being the principal of The Blackheath School of Dance!

We’re delighted to announce that our very own Miss Liv will be back on the Summer School faculty this August!

A graduate of Performers College, Miss Liv’s professional credits include Mamma Mia! (West End) as Swing, and Dance Captain and cover Cinderella in the Forum Theatre’s pantomime season. She’s also a dedicated teacher at Blackheath School of Dance, and we’re thrilled that students will get to experience even more of her expertise during this special week.

Throughout the Summer School, Miss Liv will be leading sessions in Lyrical and Pilates!

We’re thrilled to welcome back Lewis Starr to our 2026 Summer School to deliver a trio of triple threat masterclasses!

A versatile performer, Lewis most recently toured Europe as Roger in Grease. He previously performed as Lead Soloist at the Thursford Christmas Spectacular and aboard AIDA’s Prima and Perla cruise ships, entertaining international audiences. His earlier stage work includes the role of John in Peter Pan. Lewis is a graduate of the prestigious Bird College, where he trained in professional Musical Theatre and Dance.

We’re thrilled to welcome back Honor Roche to our 2026 Summer School, delivering a Strictly fabulous Ballroom & Latin American masterclass for our students.

An accomplished competitive dancer and IDTA Associate Instructor, Honor’s experience spans elite technical training and dazzling screen work, with credits including:
Bridgerton (Netflix), The Crown (Netflix), Doctor Who (BBC), Killing Eve (BBC), See How They Run, Strictly Come Dancing – The People’s Strictly, The Courtship (NBC), Flavia (Sky Cinema), and more.

Honor also starred in Strictly Come Dancing Iran (runner-up), has performed aboard P&O cruises, and trained in Acting at London’s prestigious Central School of Speech & Drama.

We can’t wait for Honor to bring her expertise to our Summer School!
