GW9 results are in…
The 1s hosted Bessborough Cricket Club and were bowling first. Charlie in his 150th MCCL 1s game led the charge taking 4 in his first spell. He was supported by the returning skipper Dyls. BCC were reduced to 102/8 with the boys very much on top. The BCC tail wagged to say the least. The final 2 wickets put on 216 to help BCC post a massive 328ao. After 2 early wickets, Kalps’ first 50 of the season and Q steadied the ship before both were dismissed. Owen and Waz then took control and turned the game in our favour. Owen brought up his ton in 65 balls before being dismissed the next ball and Waz was run out after a well made 67. It was left to YK and Rosh who finished the job. It was a nervy ending but Rosh’s scoop for 6 released all the pressure and the boys brought it home. Win by 2 wickets🙌🏽
The 2s travelled to and were bowling first. Abhishek and Ajju were on top, reducing HCC to 78/6. Abhi ended with 4-fer and Ajju with 3 before Sohail finished the job with 3 for himself. 162ao. At 62/1 the chase was looking promising however the boys succumbed to a batting collapse and ended up 107ao despite Sonejis 35. Loss by 55 runs.
The 3s travelled to league leaders Brentham CC 🏏 and were bowling. Brentham got off to a decent start but the returning Pranav, back like he never left, took 5 to reduce Brentham to 193ao. The chase never got going from the start. 47/3 became 72/7. It was left to skipper Rishi and Dhiresh to bring home a draw and that they did. Rish with 35* (84) and Dhiresh with the more remarkable innings of 0* (60). Losing draw.
The 4s hosted and were fielding. After an early breakthrough via Jaisal, NLCC took control posting 299/3dec in 46 overs. The chase got off to a flyer with Sambo and Ravi Patel taking the game to the NLCC followed by Kushal at 3. However once all 3 were dismissed the chase never looked likely and wickets started to fall. It was left on the shoulders of Anish and Ravi Jilka, who was built for this scenario. The 2 of them commendably battled 8.1 overs to protect the final wicket. Losing draw
12 points this weekend, swipe to the end for my TOTW based on context of the games💪🏽
