𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿’𝘀 2026 𝗖𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗨𝗩 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿?

Well, we’re hoping someone will win it at our 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗳 𝗗𝗮𝘆 on 23𝗿𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 at Brocket Hall.

All they have to do is record the first hole in one at the second hole across the lake.

It’s just one of many standout offerings we are providing for the big day.

Our founder spent yesterday with OBE up at his Get Busy Living Centre near Melton Mowbray.

The Foundation will be this year’s beneficiary charity at The Sporting Club Sports Awards Gala Dinner on 10th December at the Hotel.

So Ian thought it was worth popping up to see Hambo as it had been a while and see for myself the extraordinary way in which a man has made the most of enormous adversity.

His accident happened in 2005 when a scrum collapsed, dislocating his neck and severing his spinal cord while training with the England Under 21 rugby squad.

It resulted in paralysis from the neck down (C4/5 Tetraplegic) and his condition requires permanent use of a ventilator to breathe.

Six years later The Matt Hampson Trust gained full charitable status and became the Foundation.
His ambition then was to create a dedicated physical rehab centre for sufferers of serious injuries, resulting in life-changing conditions with long term effects including permanent disability, to help them recover to the best of their abilities.

Hambo also provides advice, support and relief for any fellow sufferers and regularly visits schools, beneficiaries and societies where he gives motivational talks.

Every time Ian visits Hambo, he is filled with respect and admiration.

Whatever your problems may be today you’re going to have to deal with them.

The Awards dinner is a star-studded event with big name sports stars presenting awards to big name winners, plus plenty of entertainment, dinner, drinks and an after party.
