Classes start back on the 3rd September at Mitcham Lane Baptist Church. £10/session.
Sessions are attended by men and women of various fitness levels.
Whether it’s been a while since you last exercised or train regularly, group training tends to bring out the best in us and will help to keep you motivated.
Mobility and strength work play an important role in each class.
As we age bone density and muscle mass will decline, this can make us more susceptible to falls, breaks or diseases such as diabetes.
Fortunately regular exercise can help towards keeping up healthy, strong and independent even in later life.
Please drop in for a session if you want to get moving.
Tuesdays 9:15am - 10:00am & Thursday 7:15pm - 8:00pm

Hello Furzedown,
Classes are still running and newbies are always welcome.
So why pop down?
People from various fitness backgrounds, ages and both men and women!
A typical class consists of performing mobility work, lifting weights and cardio, all great for our health.
As we age we want to maintain muscle mass and bone density to not only support lifespan but health span.
We all want to be active and healthy beyond our 70’s 80’s, so let’s start investing in our futures now.

For over seven years, bafitnessforall has been helping people of all ages and fitness backgrounds move more, feel stronger, and build lasting healthy habits.
Every session is carefully structured to develop strength, mobility, and cardiovascular endurance, with exercises that can be adapted to suit each individual.
Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey, returning after a break, or looking to push yourself further, you’ll be supported to work towards your own specific health and fitness goals.
I’ve always championed the benefits of exercise and believe small positive changes compound over time, leading to significant long-term improvements. Remember these improvements not only benefit you, but those close to you as well.
Classes take place at Mitcham Lane Baptist Church (Welham Road):
Tuesdays: 9:15am – 10:00am
Thursdays: 7:15pm – 8:00pm
£10/Session

Hello Everyone,
A reminder that we are having a week off for half term and will resume on Tuesday 24th - 9:15am - 10:00am.
Small positive changes do compound over time, and health is one of the clearest places this happens.
We are wired to notice sudden change, not slow progress.
Health improvements are often invisible until one day you realise:
you’re not out of breath anymore walking upstairs
your knee doesn’t ache like it used to
your mood is steadier
your clothes fit differently
Remember this the next time you are doing a plank walk out or wall sit! 😂
Thanks for being such a great group.

Hello Furzedown,
After our Christmas break we are back at Mitcham Lane Baptist Church SW16 6NT for the start of a new 6 week training block. (£10session)
Starting - Tuesday 6th January 9:15am - 10:00am
Thursday 8th January 7:15pm - 8:00pm
The sessions involve a mixture of mobility work, resistance training (including body weight and the use of dumbbells and kettlebells). As well as this we target cardiovascular fitness.
Here are a few reasons why it might be worth popping down!
✅ Resistance training helps improve bone density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis.
✅ Resistance training helps combat sarcopenia (loss of skeletal muscle and strength as we age).
✅ Loss of muscle mass and mobility can be problematic for our joint health leading to pain and stiffness in these areas.
✅ Exercise is a natural mood booster and releases feel good hormones. Movement really is medicine!
✅ We are the friendliest exercise group this side of London and that’s not me being biased! 😂

Hello Furzedown,
We will be having our last session of the year this Tuesday 16th December (9:15am - 10:00am) at Mitcham Lane Baptist Church SW16 6NT.
The class is free all I ask in return is a small food or toiletry donation to the Furzedown Food Bank.
Sessions are attended by people from wide and varied fitness backgrounds. Exercises can be adapted to challenge all and will support strength and conditioning as well as mobility.
Unfortunately, as we age bone density will decrease as well as the loss of muscle mass (sarcopenia). Fortunately, we can combat this decline through exercise particularly resistance training.
Remember small changes in your lifestyle can lead to big improvements in your health and overall quality of life!
Healthy Regards,
Bash
