Lovely last morning of the season on the deck at the Duke of Clarence Hampton Hill for Pilates at the Pub.

This is how to survive a “heat bomb” ☀️😎☀️

Thanks to these amazing ladies for showing up despite the heat, we had a lovely stretchy session under the shade of the parasols with a perfect cool breeze, and followed by a refreshing iced latte Duke of Clarence Hampton Hill

This week’s focus: Thoracic breath ✨🩻✨

Ribcage expanding wide on the inhale…
Softly closing down as the core connects on the exhale.

We practiced this with hands on the ribs, then reinforced throughout class to feel the rib to hip connection in arm arcs and articulating bridge.

Such an important concept and key to building core strength and stability 💗

Close your eyes, take a few seconds and practice: Wrap your hands around the ribs and feel them expand wide as you breathe in, pelvic floor and diaphragm descending, feel the ribs soften and close down onto the body as you slowly exhale, pelvic floor and diaphragm lift 🫶

Breath is where everything begins. When we understand it, everything else flows more easily ☺️
