South Harrow Dog Training Club

Classes will run as by this evening I’m confident that it will be cool enough, as we have shade and a breeze, but will start a little later:
1st and 2nd class- together starting at 7:35
3rd class- starting at 8:10

Okay guys, if the “weather gods” are to be believed tomorrow is going to be the only day where it is cooler… if it’s under 25 degrees by 7pm classes will be running as we have a breeze and plenty of shade in the field. I will confirm at around 5:30pm tomorrow on this post if going ahead or not, but if it is, please let me know on here. H 😊

Update… no classes tonight, it’s far too hot!!
Please remember to keep your dogs safe in this weather:
No high energy games, like ball chasing
No walking between 9am- 8/9pm ( always check the temperature of the pavement- back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds.. too hot for your hand is too hot for your dogs paws)
Google signs of heatstroke in dogs, it is a killer.
It won’t kill your dog to miss a few walks, but one walk in the heat might do…

Classes will be running tomorrow but looking unlikely the following week as we have another heatwave coming in. Please let me know if you’re coming tomorrow. H

Heya everyone, so for obvious reasons there will be no classes running tomorrow…. It is far too hot, I’m pretty sure that I am going melt into a puddle with just my baseball cap floating on the top by the time this heatwave is over😂 just a reminder:
It is too hot to be walking a dog between 8am- 9pm, if you can’t walk your dog around those times, Don’t walk them, a bored dog is better than a dead one.
It is too hot to leave a dog in the car, even for 5 mins, cars heat up sooo quickly.
Google the symptoms of heat stroke, if you think your dog has heat stroke, chuck them in a cold bath while you call the vet and wrap them in wet towels in the car on your journey to the vets. Heat stroke is a killer.
It is too hot for excitable play such as chasing balls ect.
If you see a dog in distress in a hot car, get a picture of the current temperature and the dog in the car before you smash the window , that you can show the police and can be used in court. This will also cover you in case the car owner tries to have a go at you. H

Hello everyone 😊, we are finally over bank holiday season so please let me know if you’re coming tomorrow. H

Heya guys just a reminder that there are no classes tomorrow as it’s a bank holiday, also just in case you hadn’t noticed…. It is bloody hot;
To hot to be walking any dogs between 9am- 9pm
To hot to be safe play ball or high energy games with your dog
To hot to leave your dog in a car, even for 5 mins, cars are like an oven and heat up on the inside, much quicker than you think.
If you think your dog has heat stroke ( Google the symptoms) get it to a vet as quickly as you can, heat stroke is a killer, chuck your dog in a cold bath while you get the car ready and wrap dog in wet towels/ ice packs.
See a distressed dog in a car in this heat, get a picture of the dog in the car next to a picture of the temperature before smashing the window to be shown in court
