Double world champion, Olympic bronze medallist and former world 5000m record-holder Gudaf Tsegay has been banned for four months after a positive test.

She will miss the 2026 track season after testing positive for Letrozole (lowers oestrogen levels in the body).

Tsegay successfully – and somewhat belatedly – argued that she was using it to treat a genuine medical condition.

Her period of ineligibility will run from June 1 - the date the athlete accepted the Case Resolution Agreement - until September 30.
