Before race day, someone has to check the course to figure out where all the best photos will come from… normally we drive it, but this time we decided to run it 🏃

Come behind the scenes as the Ultra X media team recce the Wales Dash course, scouting the best photography locations before race day. A few wrong turns, a few questionable decisions… and somehow it all started feeling like our own Lord of the Rings adventure. 🏔️⚔️

"My experience was incredibly fun, beautiful, and, above all, challenging.

I explored and surpassed what I thought were my physical and mental limits in the breathtaking mountains of the Bannau Brycheiniog.

Resolve, patience, and grit - qualities that were tested in different ways throughout this race.

The Ultra X community was amazing, and I’m so glad I got to meet so many incredible people, from fellow runners and crew members to friendly strangers. It was an unforgettable experience."

Congratulations Abbas, you accomplished an insane feat this past weekend, and it does not go unnoticed.

The runners get the medals. But an Ultra X weekend is built by a lot more people than that.

Thank you to all of our amazing partners and vendors who made Ultra X Wales happen!

Whether you enjoyed the free custom embroidery from Janji UK, the race saving muscle support of Bearhug and WYLD Therapy, the healthy energy of TENZING NATURAL ENERGY, the nutrition and gels of Science in Sport - SiS along the course or simply the amazing food from our finish line vendors, they all came together to create

Abergavenny wouldn’t have been the same without you! 💙

Ultra X Wales Stage 2 ✅

What an incredible end to our first ever event in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park 🙌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Today brought cooler temperatures than yesterday but also patches of rain and wind that presented challenging conditions on the highest parts of the course.

The Class of ‘26 were up to the challenge and they pushed on with some incredible times and distance efforts across the weekend.

Particular shoutouts go to Natalie Taylor - the current FKT record holder for the Dragon's Back Race® and winner of Ultra X Wales 2025 for retaining her title on the new course!

And to AB - our final finisher of the 110km Single Stage event, completing the course in 35hrs and 30minutes - 30 minutes inside the 36hr cutoff! We’ll be sharing more of his incredible journey next week…

If you enjoyed the event, please do let us know. We’ll be getting back to all of your comments and tags tomorrow. Thank you so much for joining us 🙌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿.
