Today, we presented our Tuesday Infant Participants their end of term certificates and medals - a massive well done to our Tuesday infants! 🏅🥊♥️

This term, we introduced ‘Infant of the Day’ trophies; a few of our infants can be seen pictured with their award this term! 🏆

Islington Boxing Club will be closed for all evening sessions this Wednesday due to the England vs Argentina match.

Hull Box Cup 2026 - Finals day.

IBC had 2 boxers in the finals today.

James O’Connor (pictured) competing for the 3rd day in a row won via unanimous decision in the final. This is James’s 4th gold medal in a box cup. 🥇

Michael Clark who has been our most active boxer this season with 18 bouts in his debut season for the club. He lost via unanimous decision in the Hull Box Cup final 🥈

Hull Box Cup 2026 - Day 2

Today was the semi finals of the Hull Box Cup which we consider to be one of the legacy box cups in England (Bristol & Haringey as well).

The full results from IBC today,
• Michael Clark won via unanimous decision
• James O’Connor (pictured with coach Jarvis) won via a 3-2 split decision
• Cassian Campbell lost via a 4-1 split decision
• Miles Ojofetimi lost via unanimous decision
• Dominic Marton lost via unanimous decision

Forgot to mention yesterday that Jimmy Clark was withdrawn from the tournament as he medically didn’t pass the doctor. Get well soon.

Hull Box Cup 2026

Today began the 1st day of the annual Hull Box Cup. We had 3 boxers compete in 1/4 Final contests.

• Teddy Griffin (pictured) lost via unanimous decision
• Levi Clark lost via a 3-2 split decision
• James O’Connor won via a 3-2 split decision

We have 5 boxers competing in the semi finals tomorrow (Miles, Dominic, Cassian, James & Michael).

Following notification that the heatwave is to continue into Friday (26th June) we have made the decision to close the Club at 2:00pm tomorrow, resulting in ALL afternoon/evening classes being cancelled.

Reinaldo’s lunchtime class will go ahead as planned. Refunds for those who have already booked their session will be generated as a matter of priority.

We hope to resume our usual timetable as from Saturday onwards.

‼️CLOSURE‼️

Following the past 2 days worth of red alert heat wave, in the interest of health & safety as the weather is still hot tomorrow, we have taken the decision to close at 2pm on Friday 26th June; meaning there will be AFTERNOON/EVENINGS CLASSES.

We will be back to our normal scheduled timetable as from Saturday onwards.

Please remember to avoid the sun and drink plenty of water!
