Surbiton Hockey Club

At Surbiton Hockey Club, we believe our role extends far beyond the pitches at Sugden Road. Through our Sugden Road Sports Trust, we’re committed to making hockey more accessible, increase participation, and creating meaningful opportunities for young people across our local area.

Over the past year, we’ve been proud to:
- Partner with 11 state schools across our community.
- Reach 350+ young people annually through curriculum sessions and after-school clubs.
- Deliver 16 coaching sessions per week during Term 1 and 10 sessions per week throughout Terms 2 and 3.
- Support schools with a team of experienced, passionate coaches.
- Work across Kingston, Surbiton, Long Ditton, Malden Manor and Oxshott.

The programme is already creating tangible pathways into club hockey, with pupils from several partner schools now representing Surbiton HC. Just as importantly, we’re seeing increasing participation, growing confidence and a genuine enthusiasm for the sport within our local community.

This is only the beginning. As the programme continues to grow, so too does our ambition to make hockey more inclusive, accessible and impactful for the next generation.

A huge thank you to our coaches, partner schools and everyone who continues to support this initiative. Together, we’re helping more young people discover and enjoy our sport.
