If you are playing at Wimbledon, Queens, Roehampton or St. Georges Hill tennis clubs this summer make sure you have your whites! 99%white clothing is the rule. Whites started as a tradition in Victorian times as it was considered not to show up sweat as much as coloured clothing! For the upper class who had staff to sort out their washing keeping clothes clean was not a problem and it was a sign of prestige!

This is not a rule we have at Hillside Gardens Park! Wear appropriate clothes for the weather, make sure you have a good pair of tennis shoes for the hard courts, lots of sun tan lotion, a cap or visor and enjoy!

If you are 40 now you have 50+ years of competitive tennis left to play! The draws at Wimbledon for the Masters tournament next week!
