☀️🔥 London hot weather — let’s run smart, not hard.

With temperatures rising this week again, we want to make sure that runs are safe. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

A few reminders:
💧 Bring water/electroytes and hydrate before & after your run
🌅 Choose cooler times of day where possible - avoid training between 11am -3pm
🐢 Slow the pace — this week is about moving, not chasing PBs
🏃Monitor heart rate
🧢 Wear sun protection and listen to your body

Most importantly: look out for each other. A good run is one you finish feeling strong.
Stay cool, runners — see you out there 🌿👟

🏆🔥 Club Championship 5K Results! 🔥🏆

What a fantastic turnout at the Sri Chinmoy 5K in Battersea Park last Tuesday, with 51 club members taking on the challenge! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️👏

A huge congratulations to our new Club Champions:

🥇 Fred Smithers – 1st overall in an incredible 15:34
🥈 Victor Lio – 2nd overall in 15:45
🏆 Natasha Sheel – Women’s Club Champion & 5th woman in 19:04

🏃 Serpentine Veterans Athletics

🔥Serpentine had a fantastic night last week at the track with both the men’s and the women’s teams coming second behind very strong Thames Valley Harriers teams.

✨After 3 matches both Serpentine teams are in 2nd place, but there is still one match to go!

✔Running: 100m, 400m, 1,500m
✔Race walk: 2,000m
✔Jumps: High jump and triple jump
✔Throws: Javelin and hammer

Events are in age bands: 35-49, 50-59, 60-69 and over 70 – for both men and women.

🔥Wednesday night Club run has been cancelled due to the heat warning.

🔥Met Office advice is for a Red heat warning today. We strongly advise against running in the heat (particularly between 11-3pm).

🏃Our very first Couch to 5k wrapped up at the end of May and we couldn’t be prouder.

✨Week by week this group built fitness and confidence, and they crossed the finish line at Finsbury parkrun feeling strong — even in that heatwave.

🏃Several graduates have already stepped into our Ready to Run beginners programme and are keeping the momentum going.

📍Next C25K starts in September. If you’ve been thinking about giving running a try, why not join us?
