With our winter season starting on the 1st October, now is the perfect time to gradually introduce yourself to colder water while temperatures are still relatively manageable.

Rather than waiting for a sudden drop in temperatures, give your body time to adjust and build your confidence in the water gradually.🧊

If you’re new to cold water swimming:
🌊 Take it slowly and listen to your body
⏱️ Keep your swims short to begin with
🧣 Have warm, dry clothes ready for afterwards
🤝 Swim with others for moral support
🛟 Always follow lifeguard instructions and stay within your ability

The water will get colder, but you don’t have to wait until it does to start preparing!

It’s looking like a greyer day, so a little reminder that our evening swimming is subject to lighting conditions. If natural light and our lighting provision become insufficient for safe swimming, we may need to finish slightly earlier as the evenings become increasingly darker 🌒

As always, the safety of our swimmers comes first. 🌊

It’s another hot one at Brockwell Lido, with temperatures reaching 32°C today, 35°C tomorrow and 31°C on Friday. 🌡️

If you’re heading our way, please remember to stay hydrated, apply plenty of sunscreen and take regular breaks from the sun. 🧴💧Walk in spaces will be released subject to availability, please pre book in advance to secure your space ✨

A quick reminder that Brockwell Swimmers are hosting an event at the lido this evening.

As a one-off, the pool will close at 20:00 today to allow for the event to take place safely.

If you’re planning an evening swim, please make sure you arrive in plenty of time before the earlier closure.

Another summer’s day at Brockwell Lido! 🌊☀️

We’re looking forward to welcoming you poolside today. A quick reminder that our midday closure period is from 12:15–13:00.

During this time, the pool and poolside will be cleared, and all customers are kindly asked to leave the area before we reopen for the afternoon session at 13:00. Thank you for helping us make this changeover as smooth as possible.

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who visited yesterday for your patience and understanding. Our team responded to a number of serious incidents throughout the day which understandably caused delays and disruption to normal operations.

We are incredibly proud of our lifeguards and wider team, who remained calm, professional and responded exactly as they are trained to do. We’d also like to thank our customers for your cooperation, patience and kindness while these incidents were managed.

As always, if you visit us today, please follow the instructions of our lifeguards and staff. They’re there to keep everyone safe and ensure the lido remains an enjoyable place for all.

☀️ Relax in comfort at Brockwell Lido! 🌊🪑

Make the most of your visit by hiring one of our sun loungers for just £5 per session.

Available to members and non-members, it’s the perfect way to relax between swims, soak up the sunshine, or simply enjoy a day at the lido.

How it works:
🪑 Hire your lounger at Reception.
🎟️ You’ll receive a wristband as proof of purchase.
🏊 Your lounger is valid for your booked swim session only.

To help everyone enjoy them, we ask that all customers:
• Keep loungers within the designated lounger area.
• Keep them away from the pool edge.
• Treat them with care and respect.
• Return them to the designated storage area at the end of your session.

Our loungers are available on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved, so if you’re planning a sunny day at the lido, be sure to grab one while they’re available!

What an amazing day! 🙌💙 A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the official launch of Brockwell Lido today (24th July).

It was fantastic to celebrate with the Mayor of Lambeth Cllr Paul Valentine, Cllr Natalie Kane, Helen Hayes MP, local councillors, our community partners, and our brilliant Active Lambeth team as we marked this exciting new chapter.
