A fantastic evening at the Welwyn Hatfield GLL Sport Foundation Awards 2026 launch event, recognising 21 talented local athletes and £16,840 of investment in sport across the borough.
Thank you to our partners at Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council guest speakers Switch the Play Foundation athletes, families and the GLL team for making the event such a success. Congratulations to all award recipients, and special good luck to GSF Ambassadors Louise Fiddes and Grace Harvey as they prepare to represent Team England at the Commonwealth Games!

🎉 Celebrating 10 years of This Girl Can in the borough! 🎉

We marked this milestone with an incredible programme of FREE activities, inspiring women and girls of all ages to get active and try something new 💪

⛷️Our Gosling Ski Slope session welcomed ages ranging from just 6 to 57, with both returning faces and first-time skiers. Sparking plans for future Women & Girls sessions.

🏋️At Hatfield Leisure Centre, participants took part in an Olympic Weightlifting masterclass led by GLL Sport Foundation athlete Gilda Trapani, learning Clean and Jerk and Sn**ch techniques.

🛶 Stanborough Water Sports Centre hosted four fully booked paddleboarding and kayaking sessions, packed with fun, laughter, and a few splashes along the way!

🎾🤸Gosling Sports Park also saw tennis and gymnastics sessions for all ages, helping participants learn new skills, build confidence, and enjoy being active together.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and our partners Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council for running such a special campaign for ten years.

Pride Paddle & Social event at Stanborough TOMORROW

There's no better way to round off Pride Month than a chance to relax (or not!) on the water, meet new people and celebrate the importance of community. Whether you're LGBTQ+ or an ally, new to paddle sports or pro-paddler, coming with friends or solo:

90 minute group paddle session - kayak or standup paddleboard followed by refreshments, music and laid back vibes.
