Everyone involved in dance has a part to play in creating a safe and positive environment.

Safeguarding is an important part of the BDSA's work, helping clubs, teachers and those working across DanceSport understand their responsibilities and put good practice into place.

You can find safeguarding information and resources on the BDSA website.

Behind every competition, workshop, safeguarding resource, training opportunity and piece of guidance is a team working to support the dance community.

The BDSA works with dancers, teachers, clubs and organisers to help create a safer, stronger and better connected future for dance across the UK.

This is just some of what we do, and we're proud to support the people who make our community what it is.

We're proud to see BDSA President Marcus Hilton MBE and Vice President Karen Hilton MBE representing the British DanceSport Association as adjudicators at the Gay Games XII in Valencia. It was a fantastic opportunity to support an event that celebrates diversity, inclusion and participation through sport and dance.

The Gay Games bring together thousands of athletes, artists and supporters from around the world, demonstrating the power of sport to create welcoming communities where everyone has the opportunity to take part.

It was also a pleasure to catch up with fellow adjudicator Wendy Rosalind Johnson from the USA, alongside so many people dedicated to growing dance on an international level.

Congratulations to everyone involved in delivering such a memorable event. Opportunities like these demonstrate how dance can bring people together across cultures and communities, and we are proud to see the BDSA represented on the international stage.
