Comme promis, nous sommes heureux de vous en dire un peu plus sur la ✨𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐌𝐁𝐄✨, dont nous avions annoncé, il y a quelques semaines, l’arrivée au sein du Conseil consultatif de Canvas Bridge, en tant que Conseillère stratégique en santé maternelle, épidémiologie et équité en santé.

La Professeure Knight est Directrice et Professeure de santé maternelle et infantile à l’𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁é 𝗱’𝗢𝘅𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱, ainsi que responsable du programme MBRRACE-UK sur les enquêtes confidentielles relatives aux décès maternels et périnatals.

Experte de premier plan en santé maternelle et en santé des populations, ses travaux portent notamment sur la prévention des complications graves de la grossesse et des problèmes de santé au début de la vie, ainsi que sur la réduction des disparités de santé entre les femmes et les nouveau-nés issus de différents groupes de population.

Elle apporte une expertise exceptionnelle en santé maternelle, épidémiologie, santé des populations et équité en santé, ainsi qu’une expérience remarquable dans la production et la mise en application de données probantes pour améliorer les soins et les résultats de santé.

Son expertise est particulièrement précieuse pour Canvas Bridge, alors que nous œuvrons à renforcer des approches fondées sur les données probantes et axées sur l’équité en matière de santé maternelle et mentale, en créant des passerelles entre la recherche, les politiques publiques, les pratiques et l’expertise vécue, afin d’améliorer les résultats de santé pour les femmes et les bébés, notamment au sein de populations diverses et mal desservies.

Nous sommes ravis de compter la Professeure Knight parmi les membres de notre Conseil consultatif et nous nous réjouissons de pouvoir bénéficier de son expertise et de son leadership dans le développement des activités de Canvas Bridge au Royaume-Uni, en Guinée et au-delà.

As promised, we are pleased to share a little more about ✨𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐌𝐁𝐄, whom we announced a few weeks ago as the newest member of the Canvas Bridge Advisory Board, joining us as 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡, 𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 & 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐲. ✨

Professor Knight is Director and Professor of Maternal and Child Population Health at the University of Oxford and Programme Lead for the MBRRACE-UK Confidential Enquiries into Maternal and Perinatal Deaths and Mortality.

A leading maternal and population health expert, her work focuses on preventing severe complications of pregnancy and early life and addressing disparities in outcomes for women and babies across different population groups. She brings exceptional expertise in maternal health, epidemiology, population health and health equity, with a distinguished track record of generating and translating evidence to improve care and outcomes.

Her expertise is particularly valuable to Canvas Bridge as we work to strengthen evidence-informed and equitable approaches to maternal and mental health, connecting research, policy, practice, and lived experience to improve outcomes for women and babies across diverse and underserved populations.

We are delighted to have Professor Knight as part of our Advisory Board and look forward to the continued contribution her expertise and leadership will bring to Canvas Bridge’s growing work across the UK, Guinea, and beyond!

One message was clear: there is a strong appetite for conversations on maternal and mental health and for stronger cross-country collaboration. We were inspired by the commitment to building bridges between research, policy, practice and lived experience, and strengthening connections between Guinea, the UK and beyond.
