Not every realisation needs an immediate decision.

You can recognise that something has changed without knowing yet what you are going to do about it.

You can notice that your priorities are different.

That something you once wanted matters less.

That an environment no longer suits you in the same way.

That another part of you has become more important.

We often rush from recognition straight to:

But there is value in allowing yourself to understand what has changed before asking yourself to solve it.

Clarity doesnโ€™t always arrive as a plan.

Sometimes it begins with seeing yourself more accurately.

And that is already movement.

We explore this and more this weekโ€™s episode of ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ข๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ท๐˜ฆ ๐˜Œ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜Š๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ดยฎ :

Something can have been right for you once and not be right for you now.

That doesnโ€™t make the earlier choice a mistake.

We sometimes make ourselves defend old ambitions simply because we once wanted them so much.

The career we chose.

The level we worked towards.

The pace we were prepared to maintain.

The version of success we built our lives around.

But fitting one chapter of your life doesnโ€™t mean something has to fit every chapter that follows.

You are allowed to become someone for whom different things matter.

And sometimes recognising that is clarity enough for now.

We can spend a long time trying to work out what we want next without noticing that the person doing the choosing has changed.

So a question to sit with this weekend:

And has your career thinking caught up with that?

19/08/2026

There are things we once wanted so badly that, years later, no longer seem quite as important.

A particular role. A promotion. A certain level of responsibility. A version of success we were absolutely sure we were working towards.

And there was nothing wrong with wanting those things, because they made complete sense for the person we were then.

But we change.

Our priorities shift. Our interests evolve. Life happens. Experience changes us.

And sometimes our career thinking doesnโ€™t change quite as quickly as we do.

We keep asking ourselves what we should do next, while still holding on to assumptions about work, success and ourselves that we may have long outgrown.

Then we wonder why the answer feels so difficult to find.

Sometimes the question isnโ€™t:

It's:

This week on ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ข๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ท๐˜ฆ ๐˜Œ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜Š๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ดยฎ, Iโ€™m exploring clarity, not as having all the answers, but as understanding who you are now and what fits the person you have become.

This week weโ€™ve been talking about Curiosity.

About the pressure to know what comes next.

About becoming so capable and responsive that we can stop noticing what interests us.

About the difference between a real constraint and an assumption.

And about why curiosity can give us space to explore before we ask ourselves to decide.

Episode 25 of ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—˜๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ยฎ is all about Curiosity, the second element of the Proactive Empowered Careersยฎ Method.

If you havenโ€™t listened yet, this is another chance to join me.

Sometimes clarity doesnโ€™t begin with knowing.

Sometimes it begins with allowing ourselves to explore.

When we feel uncertain, itโ€™s very easy for our world to become smaller.

We start looking for the safest answer.

The sensible answer.

The option that causes the least disruption.

And sometimes that is exactly what we need.

But sometimes we narrow things down before weโ€™ve really explored what else might be possible.

Curiosity doesnโ€™t remove the realities of our lives.

It simply gives us a little more room to look.

And sometimes, when we can see more options, we realise we have more agency than we thought.

This is what Iโ€™ve been exploring in this weekโ€™s 11-minute episode of the ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—˜๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ยฎ podcast.

What might need your attention this week?

Weโ€™re very good at noticing what needs our attention.

The thing that needs sorting.

The message that needs answering.

The problem that needs solving.

But what about the things that simply keep drawing us back?

The conversations that energise us.

The subjects we keep reading about.

The ideas we find ourselves thinking about for no obvious reason.

Not every interest has to become something.

But what repeatedly catches our attention can tell us something about ourselves.

So sometimes itโ€™s worth listening.

15/08/2026

Some things in life really are constraints.

Money. Health. Responsibilities. People who depend on us. The practical realities we need to work with.

But alongside those, we can also carry assumptions for so long that they begin to feel just as solid.

Itโ€™s too late.

People like me donโ€™t do that.

Iโ€™d have to start all over again.

That isnโ€™t realistic.

Curiosity doesnโ€™t ask us to ignore reality.

It simply asks us to look again.

Because a constraint is something we need to work with.

An assumption may be something we need to question.

That's what we explore in this weeks episode of
