It’s not all about the competition! On Saturday, Jets swimmers from all squads took part in a fun session - thanks the use of a achievement award put out the inflatables for an hour and pizza refreshments were available for everyone! There was a lot of fun and glimpses of other aquatics disciplines - water polo and artistic swimming of a sort 😂
It’s not quite the end of the season yet - post about our Nationals qualifier will come soon

Another amazing weekend for Jets across three different events: meet, Open Water Regionals and some Club time trials
Congratulations to everyone, PBs and medals galore for the swimmers again, with huge smiles all round
Special mentions to Sam for his Middlesex 🥈(5km) and Xavier for his 🥉(2km) at the Open Water champs.
And also it was fantastic to see more parents stepping up as Timekeepers for the club event at Chiswick - here’s to more officials in training 📋
Thanks to our coaching team, parents and volunteers across all of the events, your support of our swimmers is invaluable

As Volunteers’ Week comes to an end, we’d like to thank our volunteers again for all they do
and will continue to recognise and celebrate their contribution throughout the year.
Our Club would not run without all of our volunteers - committee, officials, team managers and everyone - thank you to all of you for helping all of our swimmers reach their potential!

After a couple of glorious weeks, some of our braver swimmers decided this weekend’s grey skies were a great time to get back into the open water season! Though one or two have been in the lakes all winter, 18C was a shock to the system to others. Great to see them all getting into it - here’s to the open water competition season

To all Hounslow Jets members taking on exams, especially GCSEs and A Levels, we want to wish you the very best of luck as you taxi onto the runway for this important exam season. You’ve clocked up the hours, put in the hard yards, and shown real perseverance—now it’s time to trust your preparation and get ready for take‑off. As the saying goes, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts,” and that courage is something we see from you week in, week out at the pool. With it being Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re especially aware of the turbulence exams can bring, so please remember that myself and our entire coaching team are always on hand if you need to talk about anything at all. While training loads are reduced during this period, we still recommend swimming and exercise as a great way to de‑stress, improve sleep, and give your mind a first‑class break from revision. Keep your eyes on the horizon, stay grounded when needed, and know that the Jets family is behind you as you fly through this season—ready to climb, cruise, and land safely on the other side.
Best Wishes
Steve and the Coaching team!!

Well that’s a wrap for London Summer Regionals 2026!
Jets had 8 swimmers (Elspeth, Emilia, Leonia, Alex, Faith, Alfie, Lily, Mara) who qualified for 25 events between them.
A brilliant 12 finals:
Elspeth 50 breast
Emilia 100 fly, 50 & 100 breast
Lily 50 back & 50 free
Leonia 50 & 100 free
Alfie 50 free
Faith 50 back and 50 fly
Mara 200 back
And the saving the best for last was a bronze for Emilia in the 100 breast! 🥉
Huge thanks to the coaching team and volunteers for everything you do to get the swimmers here (and parents!)

This is an important story showing the pressure on leisure operators across the country (and very few people realise that leisure provision is not a statutory obligation for local authorities). Jets had a prolonged period out of the water in the early COVID period whilst pools were run by Fusion. We are extremely grateful that London Borough of Hounslow took the decision to take administration of their centres back into their own control under Lampton Leisure and the working relationship we have built with them since.
