📣Rounding up event #764 at hackney Marshes:
A warm and muggy morning on the marshes brought out 428 runners, joggers, and walkers; and 25 volunteers this morning.
We had 91 first timers to the marshes - including 15 people who completed their very first parkrun, and 35 people got brand new PBs despite the heat!
An excellent team of volunteers today, a massive THANK YOU as always to:
✨️Laura Sharpe, Natalie Simpson, Simon Wharton, Desmond Johnston, David Wilkey, Graham Atkins, Anika Heckwolf, Nicholas Rutherford, Catriona Finnie, David Shortridge, Asif Hussain, Chris Mattinson, Ogechi Ughaonu, Kate Westlake, Simon Long, Kitt Love‑Jones, Sarah Newton, Rebecca Parry, David Swindells, Lucy Willan‑Kritzler, Martina Antosova, Anne Parisio, Jan Abbott, Clem Cook, Miry Mayer✨️
Look after yourselves and keep cool over the next few days with the rising temperatures. Our roster is looking a bit patchy over the upcoming weeks, so if you'd like to help us patch it up - please email or DM us to volunteer🙏🏼.

🚨 Volunteers Needed This Saturday! 🚨
Can you answer the call? 👆
We’re looking for a few more heroes to help make this Saturday’s parkrun happen, particularly for the roles of:
📱 Barcode Scanner
🚩 Marshals
Marshalling is one of the most rewarding volunteer roles – cheering on participants, keeping everyone on course, and helping create the fantastic atmosphere that makes parkrun so special. And if you’ve never tried scanning before, don’t worry – it’s quick, easy, and full training will be provided.
Whether you’re taking a week off running, supporting a friend, or simply want to give something back to our amazing parkrun community, we’d love to have you on the team.
👉 If you can help, please comment below, send us a message, or email us at [email protected]
When you’re lining up your next volunteer recruit… we’re pointing at YOU! 😉

This weekend is a big weekend for the East London running community - the festival of fitness and the Hackney Half are taking place on Saturday and Sunday, and their HQ is our beloved Hackney Marshes.
✨️Good luck to those taking part in either of the events✨️ - do come out and cheer if you're not running.
As in previous years, the car park at the Hackney Marshes centre will be closed to the public, and many of the nearby roads may have additional restrictions - please check ahead if you're planning to drive. Toilets should still be accessible to the public.
Most importantly - parkrun is on as normal💚, but the Marshes may look a bit busier than our usual sleepy Saturday morning vibes.
Our roster for this weekend is looking great, but if you still want to volunteer this Saturday (or the following weeks) - please drop us a line either here or on [email protected]🙏🏼.
We're looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
Miry and the rest of the HMPR core team👋🏼
