There is a massive reason why clubs have front of shirt sponsors. Historically, they have been one of the biggest commercial revenue streams for football clubs. With the value of modern TV deals, sponsorship revenue may not be as critical as it once was, but Chelsea have still missed out on more than £80 million in potential revenue over the last few seasons. For me, a lot of that comes down to the club simply asking for too much.

Chelsea have always been able to attract and secure major global sponsors, which makes you question why they have failed to secure a long term deal worth £60 million plus per season.

We have gone from a global tech giant in Samsung, to a world famous tyre manufacturer in Yokohama, then to one of Britain’s biggest telecommunications companies in Three, and now to nobody for consecutive seasons.

The reality is that Chelsea are not currently the same club that could guarantee Champions League football every season. We have been far too inconsistent to justify such high demands. Since the new owners arrived, we haven’t consistently qualified for Europe in consecutive seasons, so expecting sponsors to pay Champions League level money doesn’t make sense.

It’s time to reduce the asking price and be realistic. If we can secure £40 million this season, with bonuses or increases built into the deal for qualifying for the Champions League and achieving other targets, then get it done. £40 million is considerably better than another season earning nothing.

At this rate, you’d start worrying about the long term impact on other commercial deals as well, including Nike. Fans are being asked to pay for new shirts every season, sometimes more than once, yet the club can’t secure a front of shirt sponsor.

And personally, I think the shirt looks unfinished without one. Chelsea shirts have always been associated with iconic sponsors, and going season after season without one just doesn’t look right.

I don’t think fans understand what they’re comparing when they put these stats up.

Historically, Arsenal are a massive club, but in modern football Chelsea have overtaken them years ago, and their fans hate it.

lets look at real Facts:

Arsenal have won 9 First Division titles and 4 Premier League titles.
Chelsea have won 1 First Division title and 5 Premier League titles.

The old First Division was very different from the modern Premier League. There were 22 teams, meaning more league games, and originally you only received Two points for a win before it changed to three points in 1981. You could also pass the ball back to your goalkeeper, and the offside rule was very different.

Before 1925, an attacker needed at least three opponents between himself and the goal to be onside. That changed in 1925 to just one opponent. Arsenal later became extremely successful at exploiting the new tactical possibilities, particularly under Herbert Chapman, although their first league title actually came in 1930/31, not 1930.

Comparing achievements from completely different eras as though the competitions were identical is Arsenal fans clutching at straws.

Chelsea have won everything available to them in club Football over the last three decades , including the biggest major European trophies. Arsenal’s success has been overwhelmingly domestic, and their greatest period of dominance came in the 1930s, when they won five league titles.

Don’t let Arsenal fans tell you Chelsea would be nothing without Roman Abramovich’s money while pretending Arsenal’s early success was built without financial advantages.

Arsenal were huge spenders in their own era. They paid enormous transfer fees to attract some of the best players in the country and broke the The world transfer record building their team. They also controversially moved from South London to North London in 1913, giving them access to a much larger potential supporter base.

Could you imagine a major club today moving across London partly to put itself in a better commercial position and attract bigger crowds? There would be absolute carnage.

History is history, and Arsenal absolutely deserve credit for theirs. But football has changed enormously. If Arsenal fans want to compare their historic success with modern Chelsea, then the context of those achievements has to be part of the conversation too.

London is clearly Blue until Arsenal have match or Won more Major trophies than Chelsea.

I can't say I'm surprised by the result. Making so many changes in every match just to give youth players minutes doesn't sit right with me. Pre-season should be about trying new formations, getting the first team fit, and preparing for the season. At the moment, it feels like every player is auditioning to earn a move away.

I understand Alonso needs time to assess the squad, but surely he's seen enough now of Delap, Lavia, Tosin, Fofana, Gittens, Anselmino and Sarr to know they aren't at the level Chelsea need. For me, they should all be sold.

From the three games we've played so far, I can count on one hand the players who've impressed me: João Pedro, Estêvão and Palestra. That's it. Jackson actually did well today. In fact, he did more in 20 minutes than Delap has done across all three games combined.

I'm not too worried about the result because we still haven't got all of our players back. But weakening the team for the final 10 minutes in both games has definitely contributed to us losing.

On Saturday against Milan, I don't want to see youth players. We've literally got 19 days until the season starts. It's time to play the strongest team available and start building momentum.

Chelsea are in a very fortunate position. We have seven players who can play across all the attacking positions, they can all interchange, and they all offer something different. I think we already have three players who should be the starting front three: LW Rogers, CAM Palmer and RW Estevão.

So, let's analyse the other four players and decide who should stay, who should be sold, and who should go out on loan. We don't need a huge squad this season, and having seven players competing for three—or even two—spots feels like too much.

Let's start with Neto

Neto can play through the middle and still affect the game, but his biggest strength is his pace, which I think is wasted centrally. He can play on either wing and is a constant menace who works incredibly hard for the team.

He can score goals, but they often come after three or four wasted chances. Neto can be extremely frustrating to watch at times, and I think his teammates suffer because of it. He's also very predictable, constantly cutting back onto his left foot. His crossing can be poor, and too often we lose momentum in our attacks because of it.

During his time at Wolves, Neto was a player who consistently beat his man and caused the top teams all sorts of problems.

Unfortunately, Chelsea fans are yet to see that version of Neto. That makes me wonder whether he's holding back or simply isn't capable of playing that way anymore. Unless Alonso can bring that version of Neto back, I think he will need to move on.

Competing with players like Palmer and Estevão for a starting place is never going to be easy, and I don't see Neto being a regular starter next season. That could ultimately force him to look for a new club.

Verdict: Sell, if a good offer comes in.

Gittens

Gittens looked lost last season, and his injuries really affected his ability to get back into the team. However, there were flashes of brilliance that gave Chelsea fans something to get excited about. That goal away at Wolves was absolutely unreal.

The biggest issue I have is Chelsea paying over £50 million for such an unproven player. It felt irresponsible to expect him to walk into a club like Chelsea and hit the ground running.

For context, Estevão was scoring 15–20 goals a season at just 16 years old. Gittens scored only 12 goals in four seasons for Dortmund.

He came on against Sydney, changed the game with some excellent close control, and got himself a goal. Against Spurs, though, he was virtually invisible until his cross took a fortunate deflection into Estevão's path.

I do think Gittens has something, but I don't see him as a starter right now. A loan move would be the best option to rebuild his confidence, get regular minutes, and allow Chelsea to reassess him next pre-season.

Verdict: Loan.

Quenda

Quenda looks like a real handful. He's clearly a confident young player who offers a direct attacking option.

What I really like is that he can play in more than just the attacking positions. That gives Alonso the flexibility to use him as a wing-back if needed.

I think Quenda will be pushing hard for a place in the first team, and it'll be refreshing to watch someone who isn't afraid to take on his defender.

Verdict: Keep in the squad.

Mudryk

Finally, Mudryk has reportedly been cleared to play after 20 months out. The substance found in his blood was Meldonium. Following the review process, he is now available to return immediately.

This is fantastic news for Chelsea fans, and it now gives Misha the chance to link back up with the squad in Hong Kong, where Alonso can assess his current fitness levels.

If Mudryk can impress over the next few games, he'll certainly put himself in contention for a place in next season's squad. He still has the raw pace and ability to be a real weapon if Alonso can get the best out of him.

Verdict: Keep in the squad.

It’s never acceptable to lose to Tottenham I don’t care if it’s a pre season Friendly or not.

In any game you need to make sure the game is won before making any changes and definitely changers that clearly weaken the first team.

Why go to the other side of the world for a sh*tty pre season tour only to lose against one of our biggest rivals. And lose in the last minute to 10 men. I’m actually fu***ng fuming with all the negative substitutions because the players that started that match could have easily played the full 90 Against 10.

We had an extra man for over 40 minutes in that second half and we could not score. Bringing on 4 CBs that have never played together? Was a disaster by Alonso One of those CBs conceded 4 goals in the last match. F**k whoever says it’s all about the fitness it’s fu***ng Spurs.

I cannot wait for Delap to f**k off we have zero Attack when he plays it’s a waste of time.

Alonso get in that board room now , tell the owners to get rid of these average joes and sign us a proper LB we need a world class CM Midfielder.

So we have started pre-season with a massive Squad

We have players in the squad capable of playing multiple positions which will give Alonso plenty of options .

I still think the squad needs thinning out in areas we still need a new Starting LB and a CM replacement if Enzo goes.

Great start to the Asia Tour.

6-4 win over Sydney Wanders .

We started the game with many youth players and after 6 minutes Satpaev smashed the ball in the top corner.

On the 14th minute Pantazopolos got an equalizer. Following some poor defensive effort Sydney went ahead on the 32 minute.

Dario Essugo scored our equalizer to make it 2-2 just before the break following a powerful run through midfield.

In the second half the players struggled to get going tiredness clearly kicked it and we conceded a 3rd following some poor defending.

Alonso made the big changes and within a few minutes We got our 3rd after some great play from both Gittens and Pedro.

More poor defending saw Luai score Sydney’s 4th of the match .

Pedro stepped up again continued to show his class and calmly slotted Chelsea level again to make it 4-4 on the 80th minute .

In the last 10 minutes Chelsea took control and Pedro got his 2nd of the night .

On the 89th minute Pedro completed his 9 minute hat trick and the game ended 6-4 to Chelsea.

The result clearly did not matter in this match it was all about the fitness. We can all be thankful no injuries happened the pitch was terrible.

The best news I have heard all year is that cheating scumbag bastard Anthony Taylor has finally hung up his whistle 👋🏼

After years of unforgivable controversy, bad decisions after bad decisions the clear biased against Chelsea was simply disgusting. The disgraceful clown Anthony Taylor has officially retired from professional officiating and will now likely join the board at the PGMOL.

I have only ever seen one referee worse than Taylor in all my years as a Chelsea fan and that was Tom Henning Ovrebo who officiated Chelsea’s match against Barcelona in 2009. He famously refused 4 clear penalties in that game and Chelsea was eliminated in the semi-final ( years later he admitted he was paid off)

With VAR monitoring every decision referees make now Taylor had no choice but to leave his position his entire career was an embarrassment to the Sport . 

Let’s hope we get some top quality referees next season. 

Pre-season has started, Chelsea fans.

The squad already looks much stronger than it did last season.

Sanchez finally has genuine competition between the sticks with Penders, and the two of them should have a real battle for the number one spot.

Colwill was massively missed last season. If we can get Lacroix over the line, we'll finally have the centre-back partnership we've been missing for years.

The club has finally put plans in place to provide cover for James. It's the first time in years we've signed a right-back capable of challenging for a starting place, and that's a huge positive. As much as I love James, it's almost inevitable he'll pick up another injury at some point. For me, he's no longer guaranteed to start, which should reduce our reliance on him. Palestra was outstanding last season and looks like he'll add even more quality and depth to the squad.

Over the next few weeks we'll almost certainly see a new face arrive at left-back. Hopefully it'll be someone more exciting in the mould of Araújo or Cambiaso. Unless Alonso is planning to use Quenda or Neto at left wing-back, I'm not too worried about that position. Hato and Palestra can both play there if needed.

Our attacking midfield almost picks itself. Rogers, Palmer and Estêvão will be a massive threat going forward, with Neto, Quenda and Gittens providing excellent backup. For the first time in a long while, we have genuine balance and quality on both wings.

There are some big decisions to make up front. Pedro and Emegha look set to be our main strikers, with either Satpayev or Jackson providing the third option. I still think the club will sell Delap, Guiu or Jackson to balance the books.

A solution also needs to be found regarding Enzo. If he stays, he'll need to adapt his game. Alonso wants a deep-lying playmaker who can consistently split defences with progressive passing. I don't think Enzo offers that. His passing over the last few seasons has been far too inconsistent, so I still believe he'll be sold to the highest bidder. If that happens, I think Alonso will either bring in Barco or go all out for Adam Wharton.

The club still needs to move several players on. We don't need an oversized squad this season, so it's better to part ways with players who don't have a long-term future at Chelsea now rather than later. Any money raised will likely be reinvested into strengthening the first team.
