What an incredible day at Roger Gracie Euston.

Our Summer Grading 2026 and Roger Gracie Seminar brought together students of all levels, united by a shared passion for learning, improving, and supporting one another.

From the first white belt to the most experienced practitioners, everyone stepped onto the mat with the same goal: to become a little better than yesterday.

A special congratulations to everyone who received a promotion. Every belt represents hours of training, consistency, perseverance, and the willingness to keep showing up when things get difficult. Promotions are not given—they are earned.

Having Roger Gracie on the mat, sharing his knowledge and experience, is always a reminder that the pursuit of improvement never ends. No matter your level, there is always something new to learn.

Most importantly, thank you to every student, family member, and supporter who helped make this day so special. The strength of our academy has never been measured by medals or belts alone, but by the people who walk through the doors and contribute to this community every day.

We’re proud of what we’ve built together.

See you all back on the mats tomorrow.

🏆 LONDON SPRING INTERNATIONAL OPEN 2026 🏆

What a weekend.

26 athletes stepped onto the mats representing Roger Gracie Euston.

Some won. Some lost. Some achieved personal goals. Some learned valuable lessons. But every single person showed courage by putting themselves out there and testing themselves.

The medals are great, but they are only part of the story.

The real victory is seeing teammates support each other, coach each other, celebrate together and pick each other up after difficult matches.

A huge thank you to everyone who competed, coached, helped, organised, drove, cornered, cheered, took photos, and supported the team throughout the weekend.

To the friends, family members and teammates who spent hours in the venue supporting our competitors: thank you. Your energy, encouragement and belief make a bigger difference than you know.

We are also proud to have contributed valuable points towards Roger Gracie Academy Association’s incredible achievement of finishing:

🥈 2nd Place Team Overall (Gi)
🥈 2nd Place Team Overall (No-Gi)

Together with HQ and the other Roger Gracie schools, we helped demonstrate the strength of our association on one of the biggest stages in the UK.

Some matches ended in victory, some in defeat, and a few medals were awarded by default when opponents did not appear. Regardless of the outcome, our athletes were there, prepared, made weight, and ready to compete.

That is what matters.

Congratulations to every member of the team.

The journey continues tomorrow.

💙 One Association.
💙 One Team.
💙 One Purpose.

“Master’s Favourite Submissions & The Move That Makes You Scream”

Hook (First 2 lines - crucial for Instagram):
“People hate it, but it’s so quick. They have to tap very quick. It’s usually a little scream.” 😂 Master Mauricio Gomes reveals his favourite submissions!

What are the go-to moves of a BJJ legend? Master Mauricio Gomes breaks down his absolute favourites: the Kimura from side control, the choke, and the sneaky wrist lock that catches everyone by surprise.

But the real lesson here isn’t just about the submissions themselves—it’s about mastery. As Master Mauricio explains, even Roger Gracie took years to perfect his signature moves. You don’t need a thousand techniques; you need to find your A-game, drill it, and master it until it’s unstoppable.

And for those starting later in life? Welcome to “Tio Jitsu” (Uncle Jitsu) — because Jiu-Jitsu truly has no age limit! 🥋

“The Gracie Lifestyle: Does It Still Matter?”
Hook (First 2 lines - crucial for Instagram):
“I didn’t punch your face today, I tried to break your arm… but we all go home okay.” 😂 Master Mauricio Gomes explains why BJJ builds lifetime friendships.

Is the traditional Gracie lifestyle still relevant today? Absolutely.

Beyond the techniques on the mat, Jiu-Jitsu is about how you treat your body and the community you build. Master Mauricio shares how eating clean (and maybe skipping the pre-training McDonald’s and Coca-Cola 🍔🥤) is the secret to longevity in the sport and staying injury-free.

But the true magic of BJJ? The brotherhood. You can fight someone on the mats, try to submit them, and then sit down together afterward as lifelong friends. It’s a martial art that builds respect, not ego.

(And yes… even legends have a weakness. For Master Mauricio, it’s chocolate! 🍫)

🥋 Want to join a community that pushes you to be better on and off the mats?
