For our upcoming 4 week summer ballet block, Belinda Roy will teach the first Monday Ballet Class on the 20th of July, 10-11.30am

Originally from Canterbury, Belinda graduated with a first-class BA (Hons) in Ballet Education from the Royal Academy of Dance in 2019. She also gained a Distinction in becoming a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance and received the Iris Truscott Scholarship in her final year. Belinda then went on to complete an MA in Dance Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, whilst being a member of Transitions Dance Company. It was from this experience that she decided to combine both her teaching and performing career paths.

ESTELA MERLOS

Born in Barcelona, Estela is a dancer, teacher, rehearsal director and choreographer based in London. She danced with Rambert from 2008 to 2014 and has since worked on projects across dance, theatre, opera and film with Akram Khan Company, Shobana Jeyasingh Dance, Marcos Morau | La Veronal, Boris Charmatz | Terrain, Merce Cunningham Trust, among others. Estela has received commissions to present her own choreographic work in theatres, public spaces and online platforms in Spain and in the UK.

She teaches a wide range of classes, workshops and one-to-one sessions in the UK and internationally for dance professionals, students and community groups. Estela is also certified practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method, her research draws on somatic learning and her ongoing interest in internal martial arts principles.

We are very happy to start BOTH's next 4 week Ballet block on Monday the 23rd of February with a Guest: Dilek Taptik.

Dilek Taptik trained in Vaganova technique at the Mersin Conservatoire in Turkey before earning an Advanced Classical Ballet Degree from the Ballet Academy Cologne, alongside RAD teaching qualifications and a National Ballet Pedagogy Diploma. Mentored by leading figures including Lynn Wallis OBE and artists from The Royal Ballet, she performed as a demi-soloist with the Turkish State Opera, dancing roles such as Giselle, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, La Sylphide, and Pas de Quatre across Turkey and Germany.
Dilek later expanded into contemporary dance with a scholarship to London Contemporary Dance School and further training in New York under Merce Cunningham. Her performance credits include the Tate Modern, the Roundhouse, the Cannes Film Festival’s Straight8 Competition, Robert Cohen Theatre, Bonner Oper and German opera houses and film work alongside Vanessa Paradis.
Transitioning into her longtime passion, teaching, Dilek became Lead Ballet Tutor at Arts Educational Schools London and is now a sought-after guest teacher for international summer schools and intensives. A PBT-certified instructor specializing in RAD exam and repertoire coaching, she was nominated for DSA’s Dance Teacher of the Year. In 2011, she founded DT Dance, where she continues to teach with an energetic, technical, and supportive approach, emphasizing musicality, artistry, and the joy of movement.
