Want to know whatโs actually happening with heart rate zones? Hereโs my take.
Zone 2 burns fewer calories, but more of them come from fat. Push into Zone 4 or 5 and you burn a lot more overall, but mostly from carbs and if youโre not eating enough to match that effort, your body starts pulling from muscle instead.
Either way, you still need a calorie deficit to lose weight. That part never changes. The real skill is being clever about where that weight comes from. Lose it from muscle and you just shrink. Lose it from fat and your shape actually changes.

Missing a week doesnโt undo your progress. What you do in the week after does.
One missed session is nothing. Your body doesnโt forget months of consistency because of a rough week. What actually costs you progress is the spiral that follows it: skip a session, feel guilty, wait for Monday, over-restrict, burn out, quit.
The thing that breaks that cycle isnโt the perfect week. Itโs the very next session, whenever that is. Consistency was never about never missing. Itโs about never missing twice in a row.
You donโt need to be perfect. You need to be the person who comes back.
