Five years of hum!

Last week, we celebrated our fifth birthday in the best possible way with our London City Island community.

Together with our friends who were also celebrating their new alcohol licence, we opened things up and invited the whole neighbourhood down to the dock. And over 100 of you came.

There were tables and chairs spilling outside, children running around, dogs making friends, neighbours meeting for the first time, people who came on their own, couples, families, old friends and new ones.

And perhaps the loveliest thing was seeing everyone simply stop for a while. To chat. To meet the people living around them. To actually spend time together.

Because we know how busy life can be. Everyone is spinning a hundred plates, rushing from one thing to the next, and sometimes it takes an evening like this to remind us what a special community we have right here on our doorstep.

We honestly can’t quite believe it’s been five years.

And the reason we’re still here, growing and doing what we love, is because of you.

So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for showing up, for supporting us, for bringing your friends, for coming to class, for saying hello, for being part of hum and for making this little community what it is.

Five years. What a privilege. 🥂

Here’s to the next chapter.

Maybe you’re not stressed.
Maybe you just need to move your body.

If you’ve been feeling a little off, stuck, restless or low on energy lately, maybe you don’t need to think your way out of it. Maybe you just need somewhere to put all that energy.

That’s what the practise can give you.

We move. We breathe. We sweat. We slow down. We make space for all the energy that’s been building up and give it somewhere to go.

With repetition, the mental chatter starts to quieten. Your body takes the lead. You shift, you move, you release.

And sometimes, that’s enough to change how you feel.

If you want to create that shift, come and try hum.

We have a whole mix of classes every week from movement and breath to sound and meditation.

Come as you are.

Golden hour starts here!

Join us on Thursday 20th August to celebrate Layers receiving their licence and hum’s 5th birthday.

An easy summer evening of great food, drinks, music and good company.

Food’s on us, but if you’d like to bring a plate to share, we’d love that. Meet your neighbours, make new friends, and join us at Orchard Dock.

Pets, children, everyone is invited.

l’ve created this retreat as a quiet space to slow down, step away from daily life, and reconnect with yourself in a simple, meaningful way.

For five days in the Tuscan hills, we’ll move gently through movement and meditation, spend time in nature, share nourishing meals, and allow things to slow to a more natural rhythm. There will be space to rest, reflect, and simply be without pressure or rushing.

During the week, we’ll also visit a local antique market and see the works of Pierro della Francesca, an award winning vineyard, a slow afternoon to walk the land, learn about the traditions of the area, and taste what the region has to offer. Everything is optional.

This retreat is open to all levels. Whether you have a regular practice or are completely new to yoga, you’re very welcome here.

3 spaces left.

In a world that asks us to move faster, this 5 night retreat is an invitation to turn inward. Guided by Oriana Shepherd, founder of , the ‘Step into Self’ retreat unfolds through movement, breath, stillness, and reflection. From Sept 19-24 for an experience where movement becomes a language, breath a guide, and stillness a teacher.

COMMUNITY SPACE

At hum we have set aside special spaces in every daytime class for those facing life’s challenges.
No proof needed, just trust.
We are offering: Community space.

To access the space simply book via DM where we can confirm availability. There is no charge.
Once you’ve booked it’s the same for those using the community space as it is for everybody else.
For clarity - this is a space in practice intended for those who...

See little income left over after meeting their basic needs
May have an unstable home
Do not hold a job and are unemployed
Receive government assistance
Cannot afford a holiday
Rarely buy new (and not out of choice)
We trust that these spaces will be taken by those who qualify - no evidence required.
For those of you who don’t meet the criteria but are looking for a way to practice that is easier on the wallet than a drop-in please check out our membership options, donation based class or class pass packs.

We also offering community outreach sessions to local groups - please get in touch if you would like to discuss us supporting your group with practices that support a sense of balance.

Six weeks after an Achilles rupture from football, we're not loading the injured tendon just yet. Instead, we're maintaining strength, building upper body and core, keeping the uninjured leg strong, and using low-impact movement to support the body through recovery.

That's the beauty of Reformer Pilates. Our one-to-one sessions can be adapted to where you are today, not where you wish you were.
Whether you're recovering from injury, returning to sport, or simply want to move better, our studio is built around functional movement that supports real life.

Because Pilates isn't one-size-fits-all. It's intelligent movement.
