đ Leaving school is excitingâbut also a leap into the unknown.
New environments, new freedoms, and, sometimes, new risks.
At Soar With Us, we believe every young person deserves the tools to move forward confidently and safely.
Our personal safety & self-defence workshops equip school leavers with:
â
Practical strategies to recognise and avoid danger
â
Confidence to set boundaries and respond to threats
â
A trauma-informed approach that empowers, not alarms
We don't tell young people to limit their livesâwe help them step into them boldly.
đŹ âI feel so much more confident walking to uni and being out with friends.â â Workshop Participant, 18
đIf you're a sixth form, college, youth programme or university preparing students for their next chapterâweâd love to support you.

Confidence isnât just a feelingâitâs measurable.
At Soar With Us, we use the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale to assess the impact of our personal safety and self-defence workshops.
We recently asked participants to respond to this powerful statement:
đŹ âI feel that I am a person of worth.â
Before our 2-hour workshop:
đ¸ 20 strongly agreed
đ¸ 60 agreed
đ¸ 20 disagreed
After the workshop:
â
38 strongly agreed
â
62 agreed
đŤ 0 disagreed
Thatâs a 100% reduction in self-doubtâin just two hours.
But the benefits go beyond the session. Higher self-esteem is linked to:
Greater workplace confidence and communication
Improved learning and engagement in education
Stronger mental health and resilience
More connected and active communities
đĄ When people feel stronger, they show up differentlyâin every part of their lives.
At Soar With Us, we teach practical self-defence skills that shift mindsets and build real, lasting confidence.
đ
Want to bring this impact to your workplace, school, or community? Letâs connect.

đŹ Why Workplace Self-Defence Training Is a Must in 2025
Letâs talk about something that often goes unspoken at work: feeling safe. Not just psychologically, but physically.
In 2025, self-defence training should no longer be seen as ânice to have.â Itâs a basic act of careâa way for organizations to say, âWe see you. We want you to feel safe here.â
Because the truth is:
đ¤ Not everyone walks into work feeling secure.
đ§ Fear can impact mental health, productivity, and trust.
đĄď¸ Personal Safety & Self-defence training isn't about teaching people to fight. It's about giving them tools to feel strong, aware, and supported.
Imagine how powerful it is when a workplace says:
âYour safety matters to us. Weâre investing in youânot just as an employee, but as a person.â
Itâs time we treat safety seriously.
⨠Let's normalize conversations around workplace safety. Letâs lead with empathy.

If you need to get away in a hurry, reversing out of a spot can lose you important time. Make a habit of parking with your bonnet to the exit, so you know you can get away quickly.

You never know how much you can trust a lock, or even if there will be one. Use it on the inside of your door, to prevent anyone you donât want entering from opening it from the outside. Easy to use, and portable. We donât travel anywhere without a door wedge.

I spent yesterday with my Mum (82) and Daughter (20), and we found ourselves reflecting that we have all experienced, or had friends who experienced sexual assault. This culture of abuse affects every generation, globally. What does society need to do to end the cycle?

Hereâs some photos and clips from our recent self defence session at Reading! Learning how to protect the head, resist being pushed, and create distance using footwork are some of our core skills we teach.

Recently we added a conversation about âReceiving Disclosureâ to our workshop offerings. We did this as we realised many of us have been there for someone when they shared a secret with us and have been anxious about whether we said or did the right thing . Itâs such an important moment full of anxiety for the person sharing -and we wanted to share our thoughts on getting it right.
These are some clips from our knife crime segment of our recent Reading event. Sadly knife crime is a reality for many people. Most victims / survivors of domestic abuse and or sexual abuse have been threatened and or attacked with a âsharpâ of some kind. We always try to include resisting a knife attack in our workshops. We hope no one ever needs to use these skills.
