I’m Running the 2027 TCS London Marathon πŸƒ

On Saturday 24th April 2027, I’ll be lacing up my trainers and taking on the London Marathon! One of the biggest days on the running calendar, for a charity that is close to the heart: Jersey Critical Care Survivors.

My Story

In 1979, I arrived into the world far too early and far too small. At the time, I was recorded as the smallest baby born and survive. My chances weren’t good, christened within an hour and I spent a long stretch of my earliest days fighting for my life at the Hospital.

I owe that fight and everything since to the Doctors and Nurses who refused to give up on me. Their skill and amazing care gave a tiny, fragile baby a chance at life.

Why Jersey Critical Care Survivors

Jersey Critical Care Survivors (JCCS) was set up by a nurse from the Intensive Care Unit at Jersey General Hospital, and became an officially registered charity in March 2020.

The charity exists because surviving intensive care is only the first step, many patients go on to face physical, psychological and cognitive challenges long after they leave the ward.

JCCS supports patients and their families through recovery, providing services, equipment, education.

Running 26.2 miles is a small thing by comparison, but it’s my way of saying thank you.

Please Support Me

I have some fun fundraising plans, so watch this space πŸ˜€

Every donation, big or small, helps JCCS continue supporting critically ill patients and their families across Jersey during the hardest days of their lives and long after.

Thank you for reading my story and for anything you’re able to give.

Epic day at supporting .heart.support

My first race was the all out mile, I finished in 5:23

Next up was the handicap mile based off our mile times. I had a lot of runners to chase down which was fun. I finished with exactly the same time 5:23 πŸƒ

Good times, good vibes, great fun πŸ˜€
