Halliday lighting have been at the QH Memorial Sports Ground, River Pitches this week servicing all our floodlighting, ensuring our Ground can provide the best possible sports facility for both Rugby and Football training and matches into the late afternoons and evenings.

At the River Pitches we believe team sports are important for all ages, physically and socially. Our current users range in age from under 5 to over 50; one of our over 50 5 a side users found the 3g to be more forgiving than common 5 a side surfaces.

The formal opening of the new Quintin Memorial Sports Ground River Pitches took place on an extremely wet and windy Wednesday in April. The celebrations encompassed an exhibition Rugby 7s match between the University of Westminster “Dragons” past and present, this was preceded by a ribbon cutting ceremony performed by Dame Mary Hogg, DBE., patron of the Quintin Hogg Trust and a great granddaughter of Quintin Hogg, who was accompanied by Christopher Rolfe, Student Opportunities Manager, University of Westminster Students Union...

To enhance the viewing for spectators at the River Pitches we now have 72 tiered spectator seats overlooking our main 3G rugby and football pitch, enhancing the overall user experience and comfort for non-playing guests. We hope all our existing and new Clients will really enjoy this new feature.

Quarterly maintenance was completed on our 3-G pitches by our contractor, Velocity, last week including deep decompactions and infill cleaning. This in addition to the River Pitch management teams routine brushing to keep the surfaces in pristine condition.

Our River Pitches are a new sports facility consisting of a RFU and FA certified floodlit, all-weather, full-sized pitch for rugby and football with an adjacent training pitch, which is accessed by a new dedicated road with car and coach parking. Players and Coaches have the use of new purpose built modular changing rooms, providing a safe environment for all users.
