A hidden rock pool in the middle of the world’s oldest desert? Yes. Namibia does that.
Spitzkoppe is one of the most surreal stops on our overland journeys through Namibia. Raw, remote and ridiculously photogenic, it is the kind of place that turns a travel day into a memory you’ll talk about for years.
Even better, our 11-day Cape Town to Namibia Accommodated Tour is currently on sale, so now is a very good time to start planning.

Zimbabwe’s best‑kept secret?
Everyone knows Victoria Falls. Far fewer people know Matobo Hills.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is defined by its dramatic granite landscapes, vast clusters of kopjes, domes and boulders rising above Zimbabwe’s ancient granite shield. The area has been associated with human occupation since the early Stone Age and is home to one of the finest collections of San rock art in southern Africa.
Matobo Hills is also known for exceptional wildlife experiences, including tracking rhinos on foot, led by expert local guides, a signature activity in the area.
It’s a place where travellers can slow down, step out of the vehicle, and experience the African bush from a completely different perspective. It’s also one of the reasons our Kruger & Matobo Rhino Encounter remains a favourite for travellers looking for something beyond the usual safari circuit.

More than just a truck.
Over the years, Acacia trucks have crossed deserts, mountains, floodplains and international borders.
They’ve carried first‑time travellers, honeymooners, gap‑year adventurers, retirees and lifelong friends. They’ve witnessed marriage proposals, milestone birthdays, unforgettable wildlife encounters and countless roadside laughs.
For many travellers, the truck becomes the heart of the journey.
It’s where friendships are made, where stories are shared, and where Africa unfolds one kilometre at a time. Because on an overland safari, the journey is every bit as memorable as the destination.
If you’ve travelled with Acacia before, what’s your favourite truck memory?

From bush breakfasts and roadside picnics to campfire dinners beneath the stars, meals on tour are often where the best conversations unfold.
It’s where stories are shared, friendships take shape, and the day’s adventures are relived long after the wildlife sightings fade into the night.
And if you’ve travelled with our crew before, you’ll know that every one of our guides brings real skill to the camp kitchen - some have even earned a bit of legendary status for the dishes they whip up in the middle of the bush.
What’s the best meal you’ve ever had while travelling?

Travelling solo doesn't mean travelling alone.
On an Acacia tour, you join a group of like-minded travellers, share meals, swap stories around campfires, cross borders together, and experience Africa alongside people who often become lifelong friends.
More travellers than ever are choosing to explore Africa solo, particularly women seeking the freedom of independent travel with the reassurance of a group environment.
If you've been thinking about going but haven't booked yet, consider this your sign.

No filter. Just Namibia.
Known as the “Matterhorn of Namibia,” Spitzkoppe is a cluster of bald granite inselbergs rising sharply from the Namib Desert. Its granite is more than 120 million years old, and the highest peak reaches 1,728 metres above sea level, standing roughly 600–700 metres above the surrounding plains.
By day, the area is a dream for hikers, climbers, and photographers. By night, its remote desert setting offers exceptional stargazing, with minimal light pollution, a major draw for visitors.
Selected Namibia departures are currently on sale, with Adventure Camping tours discounted by up to 30%.
