September dates for your diary!

Next week We're back to out regular programming of weekly classes and bi-weekly social Brixton's Got Rhythm.

We're taking a break over summer! 🌞

We wanted to take some time to breathe, recuperate and make plans for the community.

Both Brixton Got Rhythm and our weekly classes will be back in September.

We do plan on having a little get together in a park at some point, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

This week is our last week before we take a break for August, so we're excited to have a very special edition of BGR, where we'll be donating a portion of the money raised toward Each One Teach One, a community festival being organised by Korantema Anyimadu and Stephen Atemie to celebrate Black British Lindy Hop and Vernacular Jazz!

We also have one of our favourite DJs, Sonnie Spoon providing foot stomping, toe tapping tunes.

So come join us for some bangin’ tracks, great drinks, and just a ruddy good time - think a party at a good friend’s house.
Brixton's Got Rhythm is a social where we play a wide range of music from the Jazz continuum. Expect a mixture of music to help you shake off those end-of-week blues.

Please note that the main dance floor is up a flight of stairs to a mezzanine. Music can still be heard from the bar downstairs.

A portion of any profit we make goes toward local charities and charities that support the arts of African and African diasporic descent.

An Easter-Eggman special! 🥚

Not only have we managed to pull off a sensational egg-related pun, but as it's the Easter weekend we're inviting people to bake or bring a little treat for tomorrow's BGR.

We'll also provide a few bits, including a couple of games for when we hang out afterward!

ANOTHER guest teacher?! We spoil you, we really do!

Tonight in lesson we have the wonderful James, who brings with him an absolute wealth of knowledge (as well as being a wonderful human being).

Lesson is 7pm-9pm, with 20 minutes at the end for social dancing/practice/feedback time.

And then we go to the pub afterwards!
