Masterclass: The Matugga Story: Against the Odds – A Rum Distilled in Scotland, Rooted in African Heritage with Paul Rutasikwa

Join Matugga Distillers co-founder and head distiller, Paul Rutasikwa, for an immersive masterclass exploring the journey of Matugga Rum. From Uganda to Scotland, Paul will share how his heritage and engineering background inspired the creation of Scotland’s first Black-owned distillery, and how Matugga has become a pioneer in the UK’s craft rum movement. Discover the unique approach to fermentation and distillation that gives Matugga its distinctive character, and how African heritage and Scottish craftsmanship come together in the brand’s award-winning range.

Guests will enjoy guided tastings, behind-the-scenes insights and stories from Matugga’s ten-year journey.
