On an early morning game when the Rangers struggled to find their rhythm, Callum Smith offered something the Fellowship desperately sought: steadiness.

Cal made his first appearance of the summer after missing his very first game since joining the Rangers in Week 1️⃣ and it was spectacularly clear how much he missed being on the court with his teammates.

He finished the contest with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals, with his staple physical defence and activity on the glass even when the pieces around him were not yet falling into place.

The Rangers recovered from a difficult opening to carry a one-point lead into halftime, however to their dismay, EC London returned with greater urgency and made the decisive runs after the break. As rust showed and new combinations searched for chemistry, Cal remained composed through troubled waters.

This was not his loudest performance in Rangers colours, nor will it be his best. It was merely a reminder of the dependable two-way presence he brings and the level still waiting to be reached when the Fellowship inevitably begins to move as one.

The road is only two games old. For Cal, this was the first step back onto it. Expect to hear his name a lot more this season like you’d expect Frodo to deliver the Ring to its final resting place.

The crown was won in winter. Nevertheless summer began with a reminder that old victories carry little weight into a new campaign.

East London Falcons had the upper hand for much of the contest, their guards creating turnovers and breaking into open court as the Rangers struggled to find their rhythm. The Fellowship trailed for most of the game before a timely 10-0 run in the fourth quarter finally changed its course.

In a game that called for composure more than spectacle, George Bidzhamov answered.

Starting at small forward, George played with aggression and grit, repeatedly drawing contact attacking the basket while also taking his turn guiding the offence. In 17 minutes, he finished with 8 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and a block, without surrendering a single turnover.

Not every deed worthy of recognition is a loud one. Some are found in the smaller details: winning an extra possession, making the right pass or keeping a steady hand with the ball. George has grown increasingly comfortable in his role within the Fellowship, and performances like this show the value he brings to the table.

The Rangers leave the first battle of summer with victory. And for the first time, the Dúnedain honour belongs to George Bidzhamov. ⚔️

Every ring has its road.

This one began in the long grind of winter, through a regular season that tested our depth, our patience and our belief. From the 5th seed, nothing was given. Every step had to be earned.

The road first led through the 4th-seeded Finsbury Bulls. Then came the 1st-seeded London Beamers, the mountain at the heart of the journey. And when the final gate opened, the 7th-seeded London Commodores stood waiting.

A demanding season.
A ruthless postseason.
A final battle that went beyond regulation.

Our first ever ULBL Winter League title.
Our second championship in Rangers history.

The quest is complete.

Semifinals Game 2️⃣

The road to the final passed through fire.

London Beamers came flying out of the gates, throwing everything at the Fellowship from the opening whistle. But while the storm gathered, Arseniy Pushkin answered with ice in his veins, burying three early triples to keep the Rangers standing.

The battle tightened and the pressure rose. And in the fourth, the Beamers pushed the margin to sixteen, leaving the Rangers only two points from the edge of the abyss.

Then AP took the Ring, answering with eight straight points of his own to pull the Rangers back from the edge and place control firmly back in our hands.

He finished with 34 points on 11-of-18 shooting, 6 threes, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and a block, the kind of line that speaks loudly before the story is even told.

But this was no lone march to Mordor. Every Ranger threw his body into the fight. Every loose ball mattered. Every stop carried weight. Against the first seed, survival demanded everything.

The Rangers are through to the ULBL Finals. And for the seventh time this season, AP stood at the heart of the storm. ❄️
