๐ŸŸฅ He played through it for 45 minutes. Then it was over.

Nico Schlotterbeck has been ruled out of the rest of the World Cup after tearing a ligament in his ankle during Germany's win over Ivory Coast.

The Dortmund defender went down after a challenge from Amad Diallo, struggled through to half-time, but couldn't continue.

"It definitely doesn't look good, unfortunately," Nagelsmann admitted afterwards.

Germany can't call up a replacement now the tournament's underway. So Antonio Rudiger, 84 caps, two Champions League titles, steps in for the rest of the campaign.

The silver lining? Germany have already topped Group E and sealed their spot in the knockouts. โšฝ

Can Rudiger fill the gap at the back?

๐ŸŽฑ "When I ask for an orange juice, that means a ๐Ÿป and orange juice."

Ken Doherty was just 14, working as an usher at Goffs in Kildare, when Alex Higgins gave him a crash course in code words.

Now 56 and retired after a 36-year career, Doherty wants top-level snooker back in Ireland โ€” and Goffs specifically.

"That would be amazing. Goffs is a very special place."

Ken Dohertyโ€™s 1997 World Championship parade in Dublin was so large it reportedly stopped crime for hours.

He's hanging up his cue for good now, but not leaving the game. Exhibitions, the seniors tour, and a new role improving player welfare await.

"I don't have the game anymore. But I've had a great time." ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

Should snooker return to Ireland?
๐Ÿ”ด Yes, long overdue
๐ŸŸก Only if Goffs hosts it
๐Ÿ’š The Irish Masters should never have stopped

๐Ÿ”ฎ A witch doctor cursed Harry Kane. Now Uri Geller is stepping in to save him.

Ghanaian spiritualist Nana Kwaku Bonsam claims he's working to "stop" Kane ahead of England's World Cup clash on Tuesday, the same man who once claimed he caused Ronaldo's injury at the 2014 World Cup.

Spoon-bending mystic Geller isn't having it.

"I will cancel it. I totally believe in my powers. I will send vibrations to stop his negative vibrations from hitting Harry Kane."

Geller's plan involves a printed photo of Kane, one of the witch doctor marked with an X, and a healthy dose of Einstein's E=MCยฒ.

"Who cares about the sceptics. We care about England winning."

Do you believe any of this nonsense?
๐Ÿ”ด It's all just for fun
๐ŸŸก There's something to it
๐Ÿ’š Kane will score regardless

Lionel Messi stepped up against Austria knowing a goal would make him the World Cup's all-time top scorer outright, level with Miroslav Klose on 16.

He scuffed it wide. His third missed World Cup penalty โ€” a new record nobody wants.

Minutes later he had another chance, one-on-one. Denied again, this time by a brilliant save.

But Messi being Messi, the moment found him anyway. A trademark left-footed strike from outside the box in the 39th minute. 17 goals. Record his.

Two days before his 39th birthday, still rewriting history. ๐Ÿ†

Is Messi the greatest World Cup player ever?
๐Ÿ”ด Yes โ€” no debate
๐ŸŸก Top 3, not number 1
๐Ÿ’š Pele and Maradona still ahead

๐Ÿฉน 25 players trained together. One didn't.

Bukayo Saka spent Saturday indoors on an individual programme, managing the Achilles issue that's followed him since March, as England prepared for Ghana.

He came off the bench against Croatia and still set up Rashford's goal in 18 minutes. Imagine what a fit Saka could do.

Tuchel isn't rushing it though. "Bukayo is ready and will get more and more ready. Once we go to the last game of this group, he will be ready."

Translation: don't expect a start against Ghana. Panama is the target.

Saka wanted to gamble on his fitness. Tuchel's playing the long game instead. โšฝ

Is Tuchel right to hold Saka back?
๐Ÿ”ด Yes โ€” protect him for the knockouts
๐ŸŸก Start him now, he's clearly fine
๐Ÿ’š Risk it โ€” you need him from minute one
