Porridge is one of my favourite breakfasts.
The carbs give you great energy, but on their own they won’t keep you full for long.
Front loading protein at breakfast is one of the simplest shifts you can make in perimenopause to reduce sugar cravings and energy crashes.
As estrogen drops, holding on to muscle gets harder, and your body needs more protein to do it.
A decent hit of protein early helps keep blood sugar steadier, cravings quieter and energy more even through the morning.
So I don’t give up my porridge.
I just balance it.
Eggs add protein and healthy fats, flaxseed adds fibre and more healthy fats, and together with the carbs it becomes a properly balanced meal.
Save this for tomorrow’s breakfast 🥣
