Go do the thing. It could be amazing.

Your thoughts can shape the way you live.

I was listening to a podcast with Travis Eliot and he shared this idea that really stuck with me: your cells as people and your brain as the antenna.

Whether you’re somewhere beautiful and peaceful, or somewhere really difficult, the way you think can completely change how you experience that situation.

I loved the idea, so I wanted to share it.

I love everything that Travis does and says, and I’ve learned so much from him over the years, not just through yoga, but through life.

He used to have his own podcast, Dare to Awaken, and if you haven’t listened to it, I genuinely recommend starting from the beginning. There’s so much to learn, including meditation and life in general.

And if you ever want to do some yoga with him, there’s loads of great stuff out there.

Thank you, Travis. 🙏

This might be the most addictive workout you’ll ever do.

Not because it’s easy.

Because the moment you finish, you’ll immediately start thinking about how much faster you could do it next time.

THE WORKOUT

50 burpees (buy-in)
50 kettlebell swings
50 kettlebell squats
50 press-ups
50 kettlebell rows
50 kettlebell thrusters

Complete all reps for time.

Aim to use kettlebells with a combined weight equal to approximately 40% of your bodyweight.

TIME STANDARDS

30-35 minutes: Solid first attempt
25-30 minutes: Strong
20-25 minutes: Advanced
Under 20 minutes: Elite

There were times I thought I’d never get this. It felt impossible.

Then I started actually training for it, but I kept it simple.

Pike push-ups twice a week, around 3–4 sets each session. I didn’t elevate my feet. I just kept walking my feet closer towards my hands, and through consistent repetition I was getting stronger.

More recently I also started adding proper chaturangas into my Vinyasa practice, coming down from plank and stopping halfway instead of going all the way to the floor. I could feel myself getting stronger in that bent arm position, and I felt that also helped.

What I’ve found with calisthenics is that so many skills feel impossible at first, but once you start training for them, sometimes in much simpler ways than you think, through consistency and a bit of patience, they slowly become possible.

What skill have you reached that you once thought was impossible? And what training goal have you reached that made you the happiest?

Just over two years ago, my life took a massive turn.

I started my yoga teacher training at 41, barely having practised yoga before.

I thought yoga was basically just about the poses. During my teacher training, I learned that it was so much more than that.

We studied anatomy, philosophy, history and the deeper practices of yoga, but more than anything, I learned how to look within.

I met some incredible people and teachers and had one of the best experiences of my life, which I’ll be forever grateful for.

And now, two years later, I get to share the practice with other people in my own way.

My teaching might be quite physical, but for me, yoga has become about so much more than the physical practice.

Sometimes the thing we fear the most is the thing we need to take the leap towards.

I’ve always wanted to act, so at 44 I’m putting myself out there and seeing what happens. Maybe this is the first step.

If you’re an actor and you’ve struggled with confidence, overthinking or poor working memory, I’d love to hear from you.

Have you found any techniques that have helped?

Yoga is more than the poses. 🧘‍♂️

Can you do it?

Astavakrasana (Eight-Angle Pose)
