body free, heart open 🌊🦋 my favourite way to practice - bikini, sun, ocean! there is inherently a performative aspect to sharing any content online & that includes content in minimal clothing like this. that’s how the app works & the most conscientious of creators cannot escape this. but more than anything I share movement posts like this from a place of body acceptance, freedom & celebration. this is exactly how I love to move my body most & I feel passionately that more women get to experience this freedom.
just because society decides a body is sexual or offensive doesn’t make it so. projections & assumptions are not reality :) another complex & nuanced topic much related to what I shared yesterday about ED’s and the question of how much of our body we share is significant. What I can say as someone who has shared their body online for nearly 10 years now is I’ve thought about this a lot. whilst discernment & intention is crucial whenever we share our body (wanting to protect & hide it more some days is normal & v important to listen to) - feeling like we have to hide our body or body avoidance is not the answer (& often playing into the very structure that objectifies & sexualises bodies that we’re trying to get away from in not sharing our body!)

There is a huge difference between a creator making false or misleading claims about the impact of a routine on their appearance and a qualified professional offering services to improve the health of their clients.
Most instructors on here fall into the second category.
So no, we are absolutely not required to explain our personal physique to our clients.
I don’t believe it’s appropriate, moral or helpful for the following reasons:
1. Physique is determined by genetics & nutrition far more than our movement practice alone.
2. It is deeply personal. We do not owe an explanation of our body to anyone ever. How bizarre to think we do.
3. It distracts from what is most important about the services that we’re offering - improving feel & function.
I appreciate that this is easier said than done in the aesthetics obsessed world we live in.
But if we’re truly talking about wellness - this is how we shift focus from appearance and back to actual health.

✨immense gratitude for this body one year on from when I was pretty unwell…grateful for its healing capacity, the love & support received & all the awareness this journey has and continues to bring around women’s bodies & diet culture. I will never, ever go back there. on a mission to stop other women from doing the same & pull out whoever I can. our bodies deserve & need adequate nourishment Every. Single. Day. Regardless of appearance. End of.
✨most of us most of the time likely don’t need another product or protocol…but time outside in nature & the space to process, feel & just stop doing for a while
✨Girl math is spending £ on clothes instead of doing the admin you were supposed to because you’ve already lost most of the work day anyways…I’m a very nice (sometimes too nice) boss :)
✨every day is a fresh opportunity to make aligned choices. neuroplasticity shows us that change & growth are always possible, no matter the stage of life.
