🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ENGLAND vs NORWAY 🇳🇴
2026 World Cup – Quarterfinals. Miami Stadium. July 11.

The quarter-finals are here. The fairytale window is closing. The fight-night energy is very real.

England arrive in the quarters after surviving a wild 3-2 win over hosts Mexico, and their lineup feels like a mix of proven heavyweight star power, football leadership and pure showmanship.

🥊 Tyson Fury — Heavyweight superstar (legend?) — 35-2-1, 24 KOs
And yes, if Fury wants a proper live warm-up before the Joshua fight, undefeated Thomas Narmo should surely give him a more competitive fight than Mariusz Wach.
⚽️🥊 Harry Kane — Wildcard — England captain
His boxing technique may have been a little suspect in our Last 16 match post, but on the pitch he keeps delivering, keeps dragging England forward, and absolutely earns his place here.
🥊 Ben Whittaker — Light Heavyweight rising — 12-0-1, 9 KOs
Fresh from a stylish KO on his recent US debut, Whittaker brings the flair, confidence and added confidence England may need in their quarter-final on US soil.

Norway keep the same trio that helped shock Brazil 2-1, because when your football team is on a historic roll — and Haaland is playing like this — you do not overthink the squad.

🥊 Thomas Narmo — Undefeated Heavyweight — 14-0, 14 KOs
Norway’s unbeaten giant: huge, dangerous and the obvious man to stand across from Fury.
🥊 Bernard Angelo Torres — Featherweight — 19-2, 8 KOs
The sharpest boxer in Norway’s lineup, bringing speed, angles and proper technical balance.
🥊 Ken Tore Halland — Middleweight — 6-1-1, 4 KOs
We could not even think about dropping Halland. Not while Haaland is turning Norway’s World Cup into something historic.

England have the bigger names. Norway have the story, the momentum and the belief.

Fury vs Narmo feels like a heavyweight sideshow.
Whittaker brings the flash to the USA.
Kane brings the captain’s case.
And Norway? Norway are not just here anymore. They are starting to look dangerous.
Who takes it tonight?

Terence Crawford’s fight IQ was on full display against Shawn Porter in November 2021.

Before the 10th round, someone in Crawford’s corner told him he was behind on the scorecards. Although the official judges actually had Crawford narrowly ahead, the message appeared to be a motivational tactic. Crawford immediately locked in, questioned the claim, then came out with a noticeably higher sense of urgency.

Just seconds into the round, Crawford dropped Porter with a counter left, then scored a second knockdown moments later. Porter’s father and trainer, Kenny Porter, threw in the towel, giving Crawford a 10th-round TKO and handing Porter the only stoppage loss of his professional career.

“Boxing needs balance. And Zuffa could be it.”

Shakur Stevenson’s move to Zuffa Boxing receives a positive reaction from Teofimo Lopez, who praises the company’s growing role in the sport and Nick Khan’s ability to navigate the business.

Is Teofimo simply giving credit where it’s due or is he already campaigning for that Zuffa bag?”

And what do YOU make of Shakur’s decision? 🥊

Caleb Plant vs. Anthony Dirrell ended with one of the most memorable knockouts of 2022.

After months of heated trash talk, the fight became increasingly physical, with both men exchanging rough tactics and insults. In the ninth round, Plant perfectly set up a devastating left hook that knocked Dirrell unconscious instantly, ending the fight in spectacular fashion.

The knockout was immediately followed by controversy when Plant celebrated by mimicking digging a grave while Dirrell was still on the canvas. The gesture drew widespread criticism, even as many praised the knockout itself as one of the year’s best.

🇪🇸 SPAIN vs BELGIUM 🇧🇪
2026 World Cup – Quarterfinals. Los Angeles Stadium. July 10.

The quarter-finals are here. The margin for error is gone. Every shot, touch and mistake matters even more.

Spain move into the quarters after edging Portugal 1-0, and now refresh their squad with additional striking power. It is someone who would not look out of place in a boxing night walkout for sure.

🥊 Sandor Martin — Super Lightweight — 43-4, 15 KOs
Spain’s pure boxing technician — and if he gets Antoine Vanackere across from him, we have a proper super lightweight duel on our hands.
🥋🥊 Ilia Topuria — Wildcard — UFC superstar
One of the most dangerous fighters in MMA and one of the UFC’s elite striking stars, Topuria gives Spain serious fight energy at the top of the lineup.
⚽️🥊 Sergio Ramos — Wildcard — Spain football legend
Battle-tested, confrontational and made for big moments — Ramos is exactly the kind of character you want in a quarter-final scrap.

Belgium keep faith with the same trio that stormed past the United States 4-1 in the Last 16, a statement win that sent them into the quarters full of momentum.

🥊 Ryad Merhy — Heavyweight — 36-3, 29 KOs
Belgium’s big gun: a strong, proven heavyweight puncher with the power to change any matchup instantly.
🥊 Antoine Vanackere — Super Lightweight — 27-1, 14 KOs
Tall, sharp and awkward at 140 — which makes the possible Sandor vs Antoine matchup one of the most intriguing subplots here.
⚽️🥊 Eden Hazard — Wildcard — Belgium football icon
And then there is Hazard opposite Ramos — two heavyweight football personalities, two huge-game names, and one very fun head-to-head within the head-to-head.

Spain may have the sharper fight feel. Belgium definitely have continuity and momentum.
Topuria brings UFC striking fire. Sandor brings elite boxing craft. Ramos brings confidence and top defence skills.
Belgium answer with heavyweight power, a slick super lightweight, and Hazard’s star power.

Do you believe Ryan?👀👇

Before they became world champions and pay-per-view stars, Ryan Garcia, Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney, Teófimo López, Vergil Ortiz Jr., and several other top American boxers all crossed paths in the amateur circuit.

They spent years competing at the same national tournaments, facing each other in championship bouts, sparring in training camps, and growing up together through USA Boxing. Garcia and Haney fought each other six times as amateurs, finishing with three wins apiece, while Stevenson also faced Garcia and Haney during national competitions.

Many of today’s biggest boxing rivalries actually began when these fighters were teenagers. They weren’t strangers meeting as professionals—they had already spent years testing themselves against one another long before they became household names.

The Last 16 is behind us. The pressure is up. The gloves stay on.

Floyd Mayweather is widely regarded as the greatest modern practitioner of the Philly Shell, also known as the shoulder roll defense.

Instead of relying on a traditional high guard, Mayweather kept his lead shoulder raised to deflect punches, his rear hand ready to protect his chin, and his reflexes to slip shots by inches. This allowed him to make opponents miss while creating openings for precise counterpunches.

His mastery of the style frustrated elite fighters such as Canelo Álvarez, Manny Pacquiao, and Oscar De La Hoya, helping him finish his career with a perfect 50-0 professional record.

While the Philly Shell looks effortless in Mayweather’s hands, it’s one of the hardest defensive styles to master and requires exceptional timing, footwork, reflexes, and ring IQ.

Swipe for the biggest knockouts of 2026, Week 27 >>>

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Sahir Iqbal
🇮🇹 Pamela Noutcho Sawa
🇺🇦 Petro Frolov

Week 27 came in swinging at smaller boxing shows.

In Sosúa, Dominican Republic, England’s Sahir Iqbal needed no warm-up round, stopping Ramon Jose Garcia Lopez in the opener and handing him the first defeat of his professional career. Unbeaten record gone before the fight had time to breathe.

In Rome, Italy’s Cameroon-born IBO lightweight champion Pamela Noutcho Sawa put on a one-round job against Moroccan challenger Mahjouba Oubtil. A sharp right hand, a quick finish, and another reminder that Sawa is not here to do long shifts unless she has to. First KO by a woman in our segment!

Then in another Italian city, Carugate, Ukrainian middleweight Petro Frolov bounced back from his WBC Grand Prix quarter-final loss to Dylan Biggs by knocking out Marcelo Fabian Bzowski in round 2. Bzowski ended up practically kissing Frolov’s boot, and Frolov got exactly the kind of comeback clip every fighter wants after a tournament setback.

Three stoppages. No overtime.
