✨ A wonderful finale to the Flamenco Festival in London. ✨

Tonight I had the pleasure of watching Rayuela by Marco Flores Company at Sadler's Wells East and what a beautiful way to close this year's festival.🍰

Marco Flores' dancing is so clean, elegant and precise. His artistry is a perfect balance of outstanding technique, beauty and emotion, reminding us of the richness of both Flamenco and Spanish Dance.🕺🏻

I had the privilege of taking classes with Marco in the past, and seeing him perform tonight made me appreciate even more what an exceptional artist and teacher he is. He makes the incredibly difficult look effortless, a true mark of greatness.💫

Thank you, Marco Flores and the entire company, for such an inspiring performance and for bringing this incredible festival to such a memorable close.👏🏻

✨ Another inspiring evening at the Flamenco Festival at Sadler's Wells East. ✨

Tonight I had the pleasure of watching María Moreno Company , and once again I left the theatre completely captivated.
María Moreno's artistry is simply mesmerising. What struck me most was the beauty of her zapateado and palmas, incredibly fast, precise and musical, creating a rhythm that was both powerful and elegant. Every movement felt natural, expressive and full of soul.👏🏻

One of the greatest joys of this festival has been discovering the many different artistic voices within flamenco. Each performance has inspired me in a unique way, both as a dancer and as a teacher.

Thank you, María Moreno and the entire company, for such a beautiful and unforgettable performance.💫

✨ Another unforgettable evening at the Flamenco Festival Flamenco Festival at Sadler's Wells Sadler's Wells ✨

Tonight I had the pleasure of watching the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía under the artistic direction of the extraordinary Patricia Guerrero Patricia Guerrero and what a beautiful tribute to Andalucía it was.💚🤍💚

The programme was a true celebration of our land, taking us on a journey through a wonderful repertoire of palos, each performed with elegance, sensitivity and impeccable artistry. Every piece reflected the richness and diversity of flamenco, brought to life with exquisite taste, musicality and emotion.❤️‍🔥

Patricia Guerrero continues to prove why she is one of the leading figures in both Spanish Dance and Flamenco today. A true "guerrera" (warrior) of our art, she leads this exceptional company with vision, authenticity and excellence.💫

One of the highlights of the evening came after the curtain fell, when several of my students gathered at the hall to share our thoughts and impressions of the performance. Listening to everyone's perspectives and discussing what had inspired us was just as enriching as the performance itself.🤩

Watching live flamenco is an essential part of every dancer's learning journey. It develops our artistic eye, broadens our understanding of the art form and inspires us to keep growing. Seeing so many of my students embracing these experiences fills me with pride and reminds me that flamenco is not only something we dance, it is something we live together. ❤️

Thank you to the entire company for such a memorable evening. I can't wait to see what the rest of the festival has in store!
¡Viva Andalucía! ¡Viva el Flamenco! 💚🤍💚💃🏻🕺🏻

✨ Speechless. Absolutely speechless. ✨

Last night I had the privilege of attending Calentamiento by Rocío Molina Rocío Molina at the Flamenco Festival Flamenco Festival at Sadler's Wells Sadler's Wells and I'm still trying to process what I witnessed.😲

Rocío is simply unstoppable. A force of nature. Her footwork is explosive, her technique extraordinary, and her ability to push the boundaries of flamenco while remaining completely authentic is something very few artists can achieve. Every moment on stage was fearless, raw, unpredictable and utterly captivating.

Calentamiento isn't a performance that leaves you indifferent. It challenges, surprises and invites you to experience flamenco from a completely different perspective. It is art without limits.

After the show, it was wonderful to meet up with several of my students who had also come to experience this incredible performance. We all left with a mixture of emotions and different interpretations, but there was one thing we all agreed on... WOW! 🤯💃🏻

We even waited by the stage door hoping to congratulate Rocío... but she was still dancing! 😅 That somehow felt like the perfect ending to the evening, an artist whose passion simply doesn't stop.

These moments remind me why I love encouraging my students not only to dance flamenco, but to experience it live, support artists and discover the many faces of this incredible art form.

Congratulations to Rocío Molina and everyone involved in this unforgettable production. Thank you for another extraordinary evening at the Flamenco Festival.

¡Viva el Flamenco! ❤️🔥

💃❤️ What a beautiful evening in Soho! ❤️🕺🏻

Yesterday we gathered at Jamón Jamón for our Flamenco Rumba Class & Social, and once again I was reminded of one of the things I love most about flamenco: its power to bring people together.🫶🏼

People from different countries, backgrounds and walks of life came together to dance, laugh, learn and share an authentic piece of Spanish culture right in the heart of London. 🇪🇸🇬🇧

We spent the evening working on the rhythm and energy of Flamenco Rumba before enjoying a relaxed social where everyone could practise, connect and simply have fun. The smiles, the enthusiasm and the positive atmosphere in the room were truly special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event such a success. Whether it was your first experience of flamenco or you have been dancing for years, your energy and willingness to participate made the evening unforgettable.

This is exactly what Flamenco with Maika is all about: creating a welcoming community where everybody can dance, express themselves and enjoy the joy of flamenco together. ❤️

¡Gracias a todos y hasta la próxima!

Another unforgettable night at the Flamenco Festival Flamenco Festival at Sadler's Wells. Sadler's Wells
🤩
Tonight's Flamenco Gala was a true celebration of our art form: breathtaking speed, impeccable technique, precision, passion and emotion from beginning to end. The kind of performance that keeps you on the edge of your seat and reminds you why flamenco is such a powerful and unique artistic expression.😍

One of my favourite traditions after every performance is to wait at the stage door to congratulate the artists personally, thank them for sharing their talent with us, and let them know how much their work is appreciated. Behind every performance there are years of dedication, sacrifice and love for the art, and I believe it is important to acknowledge that.💫

This evening was even more special because I had the opportunity to reconnect with artists and students, some of them I had not seen for some time. These encounters are one of the many gifts that the Flamenco Festival brings to London every year.🥰

A huge thank you to Manuel Liñán, Eva Yerbabuena, El Farru and Tomás de la Molia for an extraordinary evening of flamenco.👏🏻

And speaking of inspiration, I am especially excited because this summer I will be attending an intensive course with Manuel Liñán himself. Learning from artists of this calibre is always a privilege and a reminder that we never stop growing as dancers.

There are still several performances left for me to enjoy during these two wonderful weeks of festival, and I cannot wait for the next one.

Long live flamenco! ❤️💃🕺🏻
