Horse Fact of the Day 🐴
Did you know horses have an almost 360-degree panoramic field of vision?
Because their eyes are positioned on the sides of their head, horses mainly use monocular vision, meaning each eye can see a different view independently. This gives them a wide, panoramic picture of their surroundings and helps them spot movement from almost any direction.
When a horse looks straight ahead, both eyes focus on the same area. This is called binocular vision, and it helps the horse judge depth and distance.
Horses have small blind spots directly in front of their face and immediately behind them, so it’s always important to speak calmly when approaching.
