Premier stillwater trout fishery with cozy log cabin accommodation and a peaceful camping & caravan site

The fishery remains open this week 🎣 but we’d like to make you aware that we will be doing some maintenance, particularly on Monday and Tuesday (17/18 Aug), so there will be power tools being used whilst we repair and replace more of our stands, like this one completed recently👌

Please vote for Jayne Shorten’s ‘double hookup at Garnffrwd’ photo in July’s Sportfish Photo of the Month Competition - a very impressive catch 🎣🎣

The cooler nights and the breeze have really helped with the water temperatures, this morning the main lake was a comfortable 16.7° and the fish have enjoyed a little rest from line pressure. We will be REOPENING ON FRIDAY 17th JULY to anglers so we look forward to seeing you all.

EDIT: we will be back open on Friday 17th July!

Fishery Update: we are thrilled to say that the slightly cooling temperatures and this lovely breeze are heading things in the right direction. We’ve been busy over the last couple of days while the fishery is closed sorting out lots of maintenance and mowing etc. What we thought was a small leak on the back of the damn turned out to be a much bigger problem, so thanks once again to CT excavations for helping us to isolate and rectify the leak.
We hope to reopen towards the end of the week subject to the weather and water temperatures. Luckily the cooler nights are now working in our favour.

Temporary Closure - due to the consistent high temperatures we have taken the decision to close the fishery for a few days. We are very fortunate to have the spring feeding our water, which is still flowing at 12° so the fish are generally happy in lower water, however the surface temperature of the main lake is now 18.5° so we don’t want to cause any unnecessary stress to the fish.
We will update here once the temperature falls slightly, which will hopefully be at some point next week.

One year ago today we became the new owners of Garnffrwd, and what a year it’s been - busy, challenging, exciting, and absolutely worth every second. Moving to Wales was a huge leap for us, but the support, patience and friendship we’ve received from our customers and the local community has made Garnffrwd feel like home from day one.
Earlier this week a rainbow landed in the water here and it is just perfect. Garnffrwd has given us hope, pride, and a future we’re thrilled to be building.
Diolch yn fawr to everyone in Wales, and back in Sussex, who has stood by us this past year and made it so fantastic. Here’s to many more years at Garnffrwd 🥂💚
