🏏 1st XI | Llanelli CC 168 all out – Gorseinon CC 170/5

A frustrating afternoon for the 1st XI as they fell to a five-wicket defeat against Gorseinon CC in SWCA Division 1.

Batting first, Llanelli posted 168 all out from 45.2 overs, with Ioan Phillips leading the way with an excellent 83. Elis Richards added a valuable 38, while Lee Davies contributed 12.

With the ball, Rasanga Gamage took 2/52, with Claire Nicholas 1/18 and Iwan Rees 1/24.

Gorseinon reached 170/5 from 36.5 overs to secure the win.

A tough result for the 1st XI, but plenty to take into the final game of the season next weekend.

🏏 2nd XI | Llanelli CC win by 9 wickets

A fantastic performance from the 2nd XI, who secured a convincing 9-wicket victory over Morriston CC 2nd XI in SWCA Division 6! 🔥

Morriston were bowled out for 95 from 32 overs, with Ellis Lowe leading the attack with an excellent 4/35. Dan Lewis picked up 2/9, while Tom Morgan also claimed 2/10.

Llanelli made light work of the chase, reaching 99/1 in just 9.5 overs.

🏏 Two Big Wins for Llanelli CC!

What a weekend for Llanelli Cricket Club, with both the 1st XI and 2nd XI recording impressive victories! 🔴⚪

🔥 1st XI – Llanelli CC 294/6 beat Llandysul CC 226 all out by 68 runs

A dominant performance from the 1st XI at Stradey Park saw Llanelli post an imposing 294/6 from their 50 overs.

The standout performance came from Iwan Rees, who produced a sensational unbeaten 146* to lead the charge with the bat. He was well supported by Elis Richards, who contributed a valuable 50, while Lee Davies finished unbeaten on 24*.

With 294 on the board, the bowlers then did the job, restricting Llandysul to 226 all out in 46 overs.

Rasanga Gamage led the attack with an excellent 4/41, while Jac Rees (2/28) and Claire Nicholas (2/35) also picked up important wickets.

A fantastic all-round display to secure a convincing 68-run victory. 👏

💪 2nd XI – Llanelli CC 215/0 beat Mumbles CC ‘A’ 214 all out by 10 wickets

Another outstanding performance came from the 2nd XI, who chased down Mumbles’ 214 all out with complete authority.

The bowlers kept things tight, with Umair Khalid (2/22), Ellis Lowe (2/35) and Harri Rees (2/40) all taking two wickets.

Then came a brilliant batting display.

The opening pair of Harri Rees and Owain Downs made the chase look effortless, putting together an unbeaten opening partnership of 215.

Harri finished with a superb 104*, while Owain smashed 86* as Llanelli reached 215/0 in just 30.2 overs.

A 10-wicket victory! 🔥

What a season from our Under 15s! 👏

We’re incredibly proud of the boys after being crowned Zone A Champions following an outstanding team performance to finish the league campaign.

Every player has played their part throughout the season, showing fantastic commitment, determination and a real desire to improve week after week. It’s been brilliant to see all the hard work at training come together on the pitch, and the boys thoroughly deserve this achievement.

1st XI Match Report

We made it three consecutive league victories with an impressive five-wicket win away to Gowerton CC in SWCA Division 1.

After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, our attack produced a disciplined performance to dismiss the home side for 164 in 43.3 overs. The wickets were shared around, with Lewis Owen leading the way with an excellent 3-29, while Dan Lewis claimed 3-62 and Iwan Rees chipped in with 2-17 to keep Gowerton under pressure throughout the innings.

Chasing 165 for victory, we approached the target with patience and composure. Dan Lewis gave the innings a solid foundation with 31, before Jac Rees added a valuable 31. The chase was guided home by Owain Downs, whose unbeaten 33* ensured we reached 168-5 in 36.3 overs, securing another important victory.

The win extends our excellent run of form, with confidence continuing to grow as the side builds momentum heading into the next round of fixtures.
