THE FISHING TRANSLATOR 🎣
If you’re relatively new to fishing, this may save you several years of confusion.
Anglers speak perfectly good English. They just don’t always use the words in the conventional sense. 😂
“Just one more cast.”
= See you in about 45 minutes.
“I reckon it was double figures.”
= I didn’t actually see it.
“I’m only going in the tackle shop for some hooks.”
= Financial decisions are about to be made.
And finally, one of the more advanced phrases…
“If my other half asks, it was £20.”
= It most certainly was not £20. 🤫
Over the years I’ve been asked to delete receipts, forget prices and generally pretend I saw nothing. 😂
